Pros Light attractive easy to operate

Cons lacks infrared port only 2 usb can't be used on ac only with no battery installed

Summary I purchased this laptop from pc parts unlimited online, it was supposed to be a display model,I later found out thru gateway it was previously owned, but still under warranty till 9/11/2006. It is a lightweight attractive laptop that came with the intel P4 mobile 2.0ghz processor and 256Mg ram and mobility radeon graphics chip.it does everything i need it to do and runs all of the games i currently play " Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Commanche 4, Crimson skies, however i found out when i had to return the battery on RMA that this laptop will not operate on the ac adapter without a battery installed in the laptop, which i find to be rather strange, so i am without the use of it as i write this. i also found the lack of an infrared port to be disapointing and the limited usb ports (2) to be a shame. the usb ports are next to the pcmia slots and due to the design of the case my flash drive cannot plug completely into the port without using an extension cable as the body of my flash drive hits a ridge on the laptop case that blocks it from complete insertion. this is only my second laptop as my previos one was inherited from my brother in law, an IBM Thinkpad 760E that died on me, so i am not the most knowledgable, however i did notice the lack of settings in the bios and it doesn't allow for disabling of unused ports etc, in the bios. i may update this later after i have had more time to play with it
