"Wonderful system. I only have a few minor complaints."
on by samlane86Pros Screen size, great sound and video, slot DVD drive, wireless mouse and keyboard....and many other awesome features. to many to list here.
Cons its size and weight is a bit inconvenient. the wireless mouse and keyboard take a few seconds to connect. this is a bit annoying. and the computer seems to take a bit longer time to boot up.
Summary I noticed most of you posted your reviews before useing this computer. this didn't seem fair to me so i waited until i recieved my system to post a review. well after almost a two month wait i finally recieved my computer a couple weeks ago and, while i had to work through a few initial problems (if you have any problems with your, trust me it is worth the trouble), it is an amazing computer.
i do have a few minor complaints which i will expound on first. as many other people have said, its size and weight can be a bit inconvenient. however, i walked it down the street on sunday to show it to some people and it is not too difficult to carry. i also have tried holding on my lap for a period of time and while it is heavy it is nothing unbearable. tommorow i will be going out of town so i will get to find out how well it travels. also, the wireless keyboard and mouse do to a couple seconds to connect when you first turn it on, wake it up, or get on the computer after it has been idle for a while. this can be a minor annoyance. finally i seems to take a bit longer than usual to boot up.
However, in my opinion, the pros far out weigh the cons. this system has many, many awesome features: the 20.1 in. widescreen monitor and the great sound (it has 8 speakers and a subwoofer) and video make this computer wonderful to watch movies on. the slot DVD drive is very cool. it opens with a touch button that glows blue when pressed. the computer also has two sets of media buttons: one is beneath the DVD drive and are like the eject button: touch buttons that glow blue when pressed. the second set of media button are going down the right side of the keyboard. having two set is really nice because you find after a while the one set is better at certain functions than the other. there is a media center button right next to the power button on the computer. you can use this to watch movies and view pictures and videos even when the computer is off. i am assuming that this would save battery power. the computer also comes with an internal wireless card which is very nice when compared to the external one i used with my old laptop. the computer also comes with a really neat remote that you can use to choose and play music, control movies and tv (if you have tvtuner), and even control the mouse pointer. while i haven't tried these yet the system have various audio and video connection which you can use to connect the computer to a home theater system among many other things. the system also come with alot of programs that are fun to play around with such and windows dancer and party mode. -
"Four months from purchase, 25 plus service calls with over 30 hours on phone"
on by RAWhitePros Good screen
Cons Replaced Hard Drives, Mother Board and Bluetooth module
Summary Extreemly disappointed. Purchased March 07 expecting a top or the line computer for the old man. Have called service line over 25 times in three months and spent over 30 hours on phone. Replaced Bluetooth Keyboard, Motherboard, bluetooth module in computer and Hard Drives. Reset to original three times. Spent untold hours reentering data and programs...This was my eighth Dell purchase for family and grandchildren's graduation gifts. The M2010 is a real dud...

"Beautiful concept , expensive, but problems!"
on by joestapletonPros A true portable desktop with an awesome screen.
Cons Expensive plus Bluetooth Keyboard and mouse problems!
Summary Loved the M 2010 on arrival with windows Vista. Everything worked perfectly until I installed my older Comcast software to get an internet connection (with Vista I didn't need to do that). The Bluetooth key board and mouse then failed to connect intermittantly and after about 6 hours on the phone with Dell and 4 tech support agents later I am sending the machine back today (I have had it two days).
Great XPS tech support from Dell but couldn't fix the problem (they tried everything). There seems to be a bluetooth problem with Vista Home Premium that drivers and returning the computer to factory settings couldn't fix.
I will look to a XPS desktop next as I am happy with Dell and LOVED that big, beautiful clear screen. Also the installed video camera had a very grainy, poor clarity picture even after all the adjustments. (I am getting full refund from Dell with paid shipping from my door) -
"Incredible Laptop"
on by syberfilmPros Big Screen Very fast and 220 gig raid
Cons Weighs a ton. But I knew it when I bought it.
Summary Do some of these people who wrote reviews even own this? I have had this for a few weeks now and I love it.. Yes it is big and heavy. But everyone knew it when they bought it. Yes it is expensive. But I knew that when I bought it.
What I bought it for was it's 4 gigs of ram, super cast cpu and 20 inch screen. That I love. It is brighter then my Dell 24 inch monitor. There is nothing about this that I don't like..
I think most of the complainres don't even own it.
If you want a great powerful laptop with a 20.1 inch screen this baby is for you.
The detatchable keyboard is great. But my friend hates the way the keyboard detatches. you do have to be on a flat surface when you ope this up. other then that small problem. It is one of the best laptops I have ever owned. It's like getting to carry a full desktop system wherever you go. -
"Buying Dell XPS M2010 is like buying Ferrari"
on by saqibmunirPros Design, Usage, Size
Cons Weight is high but your are not a baby
Summary From the moment I saw Dell XPS M2010 I could not sleep. I went to the Dell authorize dealer and bought it for 1300KD even 1000$ expansive then US market. All my friends said it’s a wasting of money but they don’t have a taste, power, vision I simply told them why peoples are buying Ferrari or Porsche where they can buy Toyota or Mitsubishi all runs on the 4 tires. Regarding it doesn't have TV tuner then keep in your mind nothing is perfect in this world in that case you peoples could say also for Ferrari or Porsche that they have the power but they don’t have wings to fly?? And it's not that expansive with all that features Mac also have same price but it's useless for us.
