Pros highest technology available, cutting edge, well-built
Cons tech support suck, but then all pc companies do nowadays
Summary Awesome laptop, with every high end feature you can think of. The unit is fast, powerful, and offers the gamer, businessman, student, or home user every possible feature they could want. It does not come built with a floppy, but who needs one these days? I purchased mine with a built in DVD burner, which is very nice to have. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase.
Pros Speed, fully loaded, cutting edge, beauty, high end, gamers dream!
Cons on the expensive side
Summary This laptop is a thing of beauty. If you are the type who wants the latest technology and the absolute best, this is for you. The machine has every possible feature you would want: Extremely fast Pentium M 2 gig, breathtaking 17inch widescreen Ultra sharp screen, cutting edge GeForce 6800 Video card, 60gig hard drive (or more if you want it), and 1 G Ram! The beautiful silver and black casing is very well built and heavy duty. It looks and feels like it could take alot of bumps and bangs without phasing it. The lights coming out of it are very high tech and very useful in the dark. Keyboard and touchpad are large and easy to use. This is the ultimate laptop out on the market (May 2005), and although the price is a bit steep, I could not be happier with my purchase. The high end qualities will keep me up with technology for several years. If you demand the best, or are a die-hard gamer that demands the speed and graphics for high-end online gaming, you won't be dissappointed in this one. A thing of beauty and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Pros Blazing fast processor; Great graphics; Smooth Keyboard.
Cons It's not cheap! But hey; you're going to have to pay for "Top of the Line".
Summary I don't know where to start to describe the Inspiron XPS Gen 2! My laptop works like a "charm" since I got it. The Pentium M 2.13 GHZ Processor is fast and all of my games play with the "greatest of ease" on it! The graphics card is great ("sweet") and DVD's along with word processing, Excel spreadsheets, and web surfing work well also. If you can, upgrade the hard drive to the 100 gigabyte 7200 RPM. It's worth the extra money.
The laptop came with Norton Internet Security 2005 pre-loaded. Although Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite is better, the Norton IS 2005 should work fine if it's pre-loaded by Dell at the factory.
Pros Everything Inside and Out! Lightning Fast, Runs Cooler Than Expected, Looks mighty Purdy!
Cons The Price is a little high and it does weigh a little more than usual but when you start playing games and there's no wait the weight doesn't matter!
Summary After reviewing other reviews I decided to purchase the XPS Gen 2 despite it's higher price. Originally purchased for the 3d rendering power (I'm a drafter and work with alot of 3d modeling in AutoCAD) but soon found my lost love of PC Gamming. It does everything so well! Everything that could be said has so I'll just leave it with this: WOW!! HOLY @#%@!!!
"One Word: Wow"on by IdiomMcCloy
Pros Widescreen, not too heavy, VERY quiet, VERY powerful
Cons None worth noting
Summary I just got mine in the mail, and I can't believe I actually own it. Pictures don't do this laptop justice; it looks far better than any other desktop replacements I've seen, and it's one of the few you can actually use unplugged for a measurable amount of time. Don't get this machine if you dislike attention; the external LEDs and mirror-like casing have a tendency to draw people in like moths.
