Pros Sleek look and light weight.
Cons Doesn't have any more power than my outdated laptop. The mouse is either moves too fast or doesn't move at all. Fan runs quite a bit.
Summary Bought this laptop almost a month ago. I work from home and need a laptop that can handle usage 10-12 hrs a day. This runs hot. It can't keep up with my 3 year old Toshiba. Planning on taking it back before the 30 day return expires.
Pros Got mine with a Zune HD for under $650
- Excellent Monitor
- Fast response
- Number pad
- Nice speaker sound
- sleek look
Cons - No blu-ray
- Integrated Intel Graphics
- no bluetooth (easy to add for under $15)
Summary This is an affordable solid laptop for much less than many with the same configuration.
Pros 1. Great Screen
2. Loud Speakers
Cons 1. No Blue-Ray
2. No Advanced Graphics Card
3. Only sold in one color (red)
Summary The computer has many comparable features of an overpriced mainstream laptop, but at a price <$600.

Pros 1. Big screen nice for videos
2. Number Pad
3. It works all the hardware powerful is more than what the average user will need
Cons 1. Speakers are on the bottom and it really muffles the sound
2. Keys wiggle (I know this is common for most laptops, but it would be nice to see it fixed)
3. The mouse pad is unentered, make use slightly awkward
4. Takes a lot of Fingerprints
Summary If you are a casual user needing a laptop for basic use this is the perfect computer for you. All of the problems with it are minor and can be easily adjusted to. In short it will get the job done.
Pros Intel i3 processor makes it work much faster than previous versions.Has a classy feel and look while remaining quite cheap at ?550 for Intel i3, 320 GB h/drive, 4 GBram and 15 month McAfee The numerical pad is unusual for laptops this size but useful
Cons It lacks inputs/outputs with only 3 usbs compared to 4 of early versions of the inspiron and only has one headphone socket. It does away with S-VIDEO altogether, however it has hdmi and VGA which keep most people happy also the wi-fi is a bit basic.
Summary Overall this is a much better entry level laptop from dell and continues their year or so of making genuinely good products that aren't to boring as before. The Intel i3 processor works perfectly and is also an excellent piece of work, from Intel. The dell inspiron has come way down in price. The base is now only ?399, not even two years ago that would have cost getting on for ?600. Dell have however cut corners a bit in the wi-fi department as it is older technology and often cuts out and requires reconnecting and sometimes re-entering of the password. Dell also decided that one headphone socket would be better than than two and that 3 usbs is superior in some way 4 usbs. Making a new version of something is about improvement. In what way is 3 of anything better than 4? It does have a hdmi as standard but loses the S Video if you don't have a high tv.
Overall very good but not quite excellent.
