Pros Dell Connect.Duo-Core,Mouse Pad, 8-1 media Card Reader.
Cons Well I was kinda hoping for the Added Blue tooth also But This is JUST Fine.
Summary I just Purchased this Yesterday. It owned a Gateway Running XP Home and Although Most people who have XP Don't Have XP Home, they Have XP Media AND since u can no longer get a computer with that My next chose would have been a Budget Notebook that also was able too handle WHAT my last computer was unable too do, so I did a bit of Research and this was the PERFECT labtop for my at the right price of only $599 and the only difference between this one and the one in the Dell Catalog is that mine doesn't have 320GB Hard drive. But with it's 250GB hsrd drive and my external drive of 100GB this computer is MORE than enough for me.
Pros Couldn't fix the date/time, but computer otherwise worked well for the first 6 months.
Cons Motherboard fried twice in first year under waranty. Dell replaced. Happened again 2 weeks after 12 month warranty ended. Dell won't do anything. Clearly a defective product, but dell refuses to take responsibility. Very poor service throughout.
Summary Laptop orked well enough until problems with the motherboard. Didn't have problems with other dell products before, now I know what the service is like. Right now, can't see buying a dell product again.
Pros iT CAME IN A NICE BOX
Cons REPLACED HARD DRIVE, MOTHERBOARD, MEMORY AND IT STILL DON'T WORK
Summary try calling the tech support # and see how long you have to wait and what kind of support you will get BEFORE buying
Pros Its looks.
Cons Faulty hard drive and iincompetent after sales service
Summary My hard drive crashed for the first time 3 weeks after purchase. I found Dell?s After Sale Service lamentable. They refused to replace the hard drive and I spent the best part of a day on a help line (at my expense) trying to reinstall the OS. It worked partially for a month then failed again. They took it away for a 5 day replacement and 12 days later I was still trying to find out when I would get it back. None of their on line communication works. I got it back after 15 days with a minimum OS on the hard drive. I spent the rest of the day installing the programs I had paid for and the icing on the cake is that they haven?t extended the guarantee although they are legally obliged to do so. Never buy a Dell!
Pros The kids enjoyed being able to select a custom case color/design.
Cons We don't like the display; we picked the upgrade. May be good for watching movies, but not for trying to read anything on the web. My kids bought 3 of them and 2 have lost their hard drives in less than a month of use.
Summary I've owned about 5 PCs since the 1980s. All of them held up for years. We are not abusing these PCs. The 3rd laptop is still running, but it loses the wireless network card and occasionally crashes with a blue screen. I expected a better product.
