Pros This product has not impressed me at all.
Cons I don't like that this computer never works. Customer service is worst in world. Should have spent extra money and bought an HP
Summary 3 days out-of-box the computer bluescreened. Dell would not send a return box untill I followed their on-phone steps. These steps took about 3 hours, which included connecting to an external monitor(luckily I have one) and processing a number of "cntrl + F2, cntrl + F7, cntrl + F12...etc." commands. One time, they had me unscrew the bottom and remove the memory cards and hard drive which, afterwards, I was informed that there may be a problem with the motherboard. But, on the 3rd attempt to start the computer, it started, ran ok, and the ticket was closed. Since purchased in July '08, I have had to make many 2-3 hour phone calls due to computer not turning on or just stops working. Most recently, the hard drive died. So, with 3 months left on the waranty, I call to inform Dell's IT department about the error code I am receiving. The rep lets me know that they are sending a "new hard drive", which i will have in 2 days. The hard drive arrives in 2 days, (which is the only thing that has impressed me with Dell thus far), only to find that they have sent me a "REFURBISHED" 120gb HD in place of a "BRAND NEW" 250gb HD. I was informed by Dell that refurbished can mean only the seal on the package has been broken and in that same call the rep. asked me: "Sir, did I tell you to buy this computer?". I ran a scan the next day and found 564 hours(23.5 days) logged on the HD. Currently, I am waiting for a call back through the escalation dept. who can send me a 250gb HD which "MIGHT" be "new". I WILL NEVER BUY DELL AGAIN.
Pros When it WAS working, it was great! I could play lots of gdownloaded games and run all Office software.
Cons This product isn't durable AT ALL! My hard drive conked out after one year of use. Ironically, my warranty had expired the day before my hard drive stopped working. =(
Summary Horrible durability!!! I'm never buying a Dell product again.
Pros It's pretty fast, I tell ya, and nothing can beat the price. It totally replaced my previous Acer laptop, which was the SLOWEST COMPUTER IN THE WORLD!!! Decent battery life.
Cons Unfortunately, shortly after I got this laptop, lightning struck our house and its Ethernet port got broken, but I recently bought a USB to Ethernet adapter, so it's good as new.
Pros Nice looking computer
Cons I purchased unit in May, and am still paying on unit. Have had 3 batteries in it since produced, the keys started coming off keyboard, now they inform me motherboard is bad and, of course, is not covered under warranty. Piece of garbage no good!
Summary The computer is inferior, poor workmanship and the tech support is just as bad.
They don't listen to customer and do what they please. I believe that something was done to my unit and they claim I did it, however, I have no way of proving or disproving, but needless to say, I will never buy another DELL product. This is my second laptop and the 1st was refurbished and I didn't have nearly as many problems as with this brand new one. The main thing is their batteries, mostly on all their laptops. Many recalls. Save your time, money and patience and look for another brand.
Pros best low end laptop I looked at. Got mine at Bust Buy for $435.Works great for home use. No problem connecting to my home wiress network.
Cons Speakers are a little weak. The screen could be a tad larger
Summary This laptop would be hard to beat even at $600.
