  • "Very Good Value for Money!"
    on by TonyXVT

Pros Light, good design, good performance for everyday computing, long battery life, massive HD, good RAM, ample of interfaces to address all needs e.g. HDMI, USB, multi card reader, wireless & blue-tooth etc

Cons Slight challenge to keep it clean as the lid top is glossy black, so not easy to keep it clean all the times, visible finger prints etc

Summary I purchase this product about 3 week ago and have used as my daily pc, It has crashed a few times but that was mainly down to windows 7 then dell. Its a good laptop for the sub four hundered market.

Battery life is the main draw of the product which last considerbly longer then the average laptop the speed is quick for simple task eg web surfing etc It does sturgle a bit when playing HD content but probably down to internet bandwith.

Keybored is a good size but feels a bit cheap, compared to sony ones. Screen res is good, however is quiet glossy in bright eniviorment, brightness must be turned up. Overall I am pleased with this purchase and can recommed this buget buy laptop.

If you will buy this laptop I suggest at: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004EWEZME?ie=UTF8&tag=***************&********=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&************=B004EWEZME

  • "The inspiron is a great value for a budget laptop."
    on by wingedwulf

Pros The inspiron has everything I was looking for in a laptop of this price range. The review said that the port layout is awkward, but I like it. The headphone port is close to the front, and there are usb ports on both sides to make plugging in easy.

Cons My only complaint with this laptop so far is with the mouse buttons. I got used to the way they press deeply down, but they feel a little cheap and unsure. After only 2 weeks of use, the left button feels slightly lower than the right button.

Summary The inspiron 14 is a great laptop overall. It performs well with no problems, and is comparable to a high end laptops like the vaio for a fraction of the cost. Other than the mouse buttons (which isn't really a big deal because they work just fine) I am very happy with this laptop.

  • "Perfect fit for a college student (non-gamer)"
    on by UCSCEngineer

Pros Great resolution screen, speakers, perfect for youtube vids and HD-DVD movies. Fast processing speed, very responsive touchpad, and easy to set up as a new laptop. Concise fit, I love the 14'' screen and travel-nature of this laptop. Very sleek look!

Cons Battery life a little shorter than I'd like (I believe 3- 3.5 hours with many programs being ran). Cannot use the alt+f4 trick without having to hold FN. Keyboard is a little small, but easy to adjust to. The plastic keys may not last, but we'll see.

Summary I love the price of this laptop, but I LOVE the specs of this laptop. For an i3, 4 GB, 500 GB laptop, I could not find a better deal than this. I found this laptop for $525 at Staples, all other laptops with the same specs were well over $600. This laptop looks well built and I plan to keep this in good shape for the next 4-5 years. Overall, this is a safe and good purchase.

  • "Excellent Laptop"
    on by techie1980

    Pros Excellent Configuration, Screen, Performance

Cons Battery Life could have been better. It's still very good though.

Summary I use my laptop for web browsing and do programming and this did not disappoint me. My configuration is a
Core i3 with 4GB RAM and 500 GB HDD along with WLED screen and Intel HD graphics. The laptop performs great and is a lot faster than my other Core 2 Duo. I have a couple of virtual machines installed on this Dell and it performs great. The new i3 processor and 4 GB Ram handles the extra resources needed to run a virtual machine very well.

Oevrall, it suits my requirements and I am very happy with my purchase of this Dell.

  • "nice, but no high res 900p availability...."
    on by nynj

Pros nice computer: dells are solid, but not really different from the pack without his res screens...

Cons yup, the screen res issue again.....why no 900p to bring the graphics/photo people.

Summary Pls. don't dumb down the laptop screens and monitor displays, keep the high res and 8 bit true color capabilities.....dell is famous for.
