"Absolutely amazing!"on by KMUKH13
WINDOWS 8 platform (I love it)
Works fantastic with MS Office Suite 2013
Battery life (9-10 h)
8MP front camera
HD and IPS screen
Attach USB and external hard drive (using micro-normal USB convertor)
Cons Doesn't come with optional devices (micro-SD card)
Summary I bought it for $350 (free shipping + tax), last week! For a business professional, this is what I was looking for. I downloaded the MS Office Suite 2013, used the PPT and Excel and presented my work using the tablet - everyone in my group is spellbound. The biggest selling points for me were the price-light weight-WIN8 and micro-connector functionalities: I wanted to get a tablet that I can use mainly for work, transfer data/ files, write/draw reports/ charts/ figures using MS Office and carry around easily while travelling. I am not much of a games and video person (because I don't get much time), although I do watch/ read news, follow business, read books (kindle), watch/ read cooking channels, listen to music and play few games (e.g. chess). Hence, for me the gadget was one of the best buys!
I am planning to get optional keyboard (with 2 USB ports) for my work/travel - that will be the cherry on the top!
Pros Windows 8 - runs all my office programs.
Small and light compared to even a 13" laptop
For what I use it for - checking email, editing docs on the fly and internet browsing, no need for keyboard
Great battery life
Cons MS Office (full version) costs money
a little slow on bigger PowerPoint presentations
Need to install a mico sd memory card for enough useable storage
Summary I waited quite a while for this product to appear.
Bought it right after its introduction in January, so I have had it for about 8 weeks.
It runs real MS Office, including Outlook - not just Apps like an Android or Apple.
For me it is the perfect tool for using on my train commute, flying for work and vacationing when I don't want to carry a laptop.
Well worth the >$500 price ($479 at B&H).
With a 64 gb micro sd card for primary storage of working files, I have more than enough space.
Pros Comes with 64GB of RAM standard, so I slapped in another 64GB SD Card for an iPad spanking 129 GBs!
Full Windows 8 and great battery life. I've been looking for a tablet that could REALLY replace my work laptop.
Cons Has an Atom CPU and only 2 GBs or RAM, but that's all it needs. This thing is way quick!
Summary What does a tablet need with an i5 right now anyway? It's not like I plan to play Skyrim on it! The Vivotab Smart is the first Tablet that could really replace my work laptop without costing a bajillion dollars.
