"Solid, light, mis advertised on Best buy's site"
on by CTTKDKingPros It's light, solid, and fast. Asus Express Gate is a wonderful addition, Good GPU for size and weight
Cons Mis-advertisement on Best Buy's site. It claims a 2.13ghz i3 M330 processor, and it comes with a 1.2ghz MU330 i3 processor. Gives great battery life, but it's not the hardcore performer you'd expect from the ad.
Summary I think it's a great machine for people on the go, students, or someone that just doesn't want a "bulky laptop. The price is good as well. I'd recommend the product to anyone, but not the retailer (Best Buy). They tried to give me the run around using in store pickup. They had the 1 laptop in stock and before I got there they did the $69.99 setup on it without me asking them to. When I said sorry I didn't want that, they got pushy and started to demand I pay. It wasn't till I demanded a refund that the manager stepped in and "zero'd" out the cost of the setup I didn't ask for and let me take my machine. Then I got home and because they opened the box to do said work, they forgot to put my power supply back in the box. Was a very unpleasant experience overall. Highly recommend the laptop to anyone, but wait till it's available from another retailer.
I also forgot to say, it gets about 7 hours of battery life under normal use, and probably about 5.5 under heavy usage.

Updated on Aug 12, 2010UPDATE: I agree with all stated by Scott Stein in the above write-up on this machine except for the mentioning of poor battery life. I've been using the machine for the better part of a month now and in Windows I can confirm my before mentioned 7 hours under normal use and 5.5 under heavy use (gaming, video playback and web streaming). In Linux it's a bit on the poorer side at about 4.5 hours under normal use and 3 hours under heavy load. Right now the switchable gpu support in Linux is terrible so I have it running off the intel gpu for battery conservation and have the Nvidia gpu blacklisted so it's not running both together for no reason (which seems to be the reason a lot of people get such aweful battery life in Linux on this machine).
Updated on Oct 14, 2010As far as games are concerned I'd imagine it's fine but I cannot give you a great answer because i use my desktop PC and Ps3 for gaming. This is more of a school based system for me. I've heard other people in forums like the GPU for gaming though so I can't imagine it's too bad. Let me know your findings on current games like Star Craft or pretty much anything high res. -
"Not only is this unit defective but Asus couldnt fix it"
on by lulu871952Pros the Con far outweighs any pro
Cons This unit seems to have been manufactured with incompatible components. Internet video stream results in freeze and blue screen. After three attempts by Asus to fix it, i gave up and bought something else that works...Never purchase Asus..what a joke
Summary I would have taken it to back to best buy but I was tired of returning defective laptops. First a Compaq, then Asus....here's a hint...never buy taped boxes, especially from Best Buy

"Best Buy Scam"
on by jules592Pros Attractive Design
Cons Crashes all the time; unable to wake up from sleep; battery quit working within a year; Screen often goes blank; has a hard time doing simple tasks such as web browsing; overall awful computer for an awful price!
Summary I received a gift card for graduation for Best Buy, forcing me to shop there. Once there, Best Buy consultants continually pushed this model on me (most likely trying to get these horrible things off their shelves) and charged me 900 dollars. I was told it was the latest technology and soon discovered it was a POS!I will never go to Best Buy, or buy an Asus, again.

"Absolutely terrible unit"
on by nationalcoffeePros It worked moderately well for a year. The size of this laptop is convenient.
Cons This computer has crashed twice as I have tried to write this review. I've had it for about a year now, and it consistently yielded random crashes and blue screens a few times per week over this past year. These recently escalated to happen six to seven t
Summary Do not waste your time with this unit. It doesn't cost much but that's because it's trash.
