"Just hope it doesn't break down"
on by lostinromePros Seems like good value for money, and fairly light weight
Cons Terrible service if you have a problem.
Summary I bought this computer for my son for college. Six months later the screen just died for no apparent reason. I called Asus and spent over an hour on the phone with someone there, explaining the situation and getting an RME. He said I had to send it in and they would decide if it was our fault or not, and maybe or maybe not charge us for it, but could give me no idea what the charges might be. He was supposed to send me an email telling where to send it. I spelled out my email address for him at least 4 times and had him read it back to me to be sure he got it. I have never heard back from them. After researching it more on the internet, and reading lots of bad reviews about their service, we decided it would be faster and cheaper to buy a new screen and replace it ourselves, but the screen is almost impossible to find. I couldn't find one anywhere in the U.S., and finally found a place that said they had it in Canada, but they have yet to ship it. I am really regretting buying this computer.

"Great Buy!"
on by FunkGraemePros Awesome Awesome Computer. Great feel, extremely light, and very powerful.
Cons Battery Life isnt the greatest, Im down to 4 hours on a full charge already after one month
Have to use headphones as the speakers are awfulSummary Have to agree with the other commenter, wouldn't complain about the price at all, especially after comparing with the overpriced macbooks.

"A very nice alternative to pricey macs."
on by ShawnZHPros Good processor, ram, HDD, good money for the price.
Cons Seems fine to me.
Summary Really, Scott? "This is a high price for a 14 inch laptop?" Yet the 13 inch Mac Book Pro is $1200 bucks and comes with a slower processor (Intel Core i5), less ram (4GB), and a smaller and slower hard drive (500GB and 5400 rpm). How come your review of that macbook didn't mention price at all? Besides that issue, I find this laptop a really good deal.

"Fast, cheap, quality build, great for business user"
on by jwb58Pros I spend most of my day in the office running email, 10 internet broswers, Pandora, and a few videos at the same time. This thing chews it up and spits it out like lightning. Makes my old Dell look like a abacus.
Cons Speakers are ehh. Don't know about graphics for gaming.
Summary For the serious business user with many many open programs at the same time, great buy. You spend another 300-400 upgrading to Win Pro, Office, Adobe and such, but that makes the equivalent Mac $2k.

"Great Ultrabook"
on by hyper79Pros Nice keyboard very user friendly. The overall specs on this laptop are above and beyond its price. Perfect size for all around use on a plane or in the classroom PERFECT!
Cons Average sound but can be overcome with a good set of ear buds. Graphics are average as well but very quick I did notice just a touch of lag on some high end video but overall it works within its price
Summary It's been a few years since my last computer purchase. I reviewed the market more this time than ever and was frustrated more than once. I really liked the Mac book Air and the Zenbook but the technology they share is a bit new for me and the U46E-BAL6 fell close enough to these that it caught my attention. I sought out a location that I could get hands on several laptops as well as the U46E-BAL6. This laptop is amazing for its price even with the few limits it has it still out performs machines twice its price.
ASUS has a winner here and I hope they upgrade the sound and graphics on this model in the future as it could grab the market by the ears and shake it up good with this offering. I will be watching the Zenbook in the near future as well after this purchase ASUS has grabbed my attention I just hope they can keep it up.
