Cons Pentium T4400 processor is okay, but if it was equipped with a Core i3 I would have rated with a solid 5-stars.
Touch screen is a bit small, but that's actually a plus for me
Too much preinstalled bloatware you don't need

Summary The Asus K60I is a great buy for the money. You will have a very hard time finding anything close on a price/performance basis. The overall feel of this laptop is rugged and durable. Business users will like the fact that it looks like a business machine and incorporates some very nice features like a spacious keyboard, as well as a numeric keypad. The 16" screen is big, clear and bright. Although only a bit larger than most comparable models measuring 15.6", it gives the impression of being much larger. Chicklet style keys similar to the MacBook are a nice touch and make typing much easier. The touch pad is a bit small and I find that a big plus, since I don't hit it nearly as much while I'm typing. The textured flat black deck will keep fingerprints and smudges to a minimum if that bothers you.

Pentium T4400 processor is okay and will probably work well for most people. A Core i3 processor would be better, but I could not find any laptop at $499 that included as many features as the Asus K60I that was equipped with one. Lots of preinstalled "Crapware" that you do not need is included. I purchased mylaptop at BestBuy and they pulled it all off for an additional $40. I usually do not buy into the add on stuff they sell, but this time it was well worth it.

Pros I love the way this machine handles, it has the best programs, it came loaded. plenty memory and a great processor. It is quiet running and it stays on task. I also like the seperated keys and onboard #keys, ability to disable mousepad. Easy looker!

Cons I don't like the sound, but I hear that that is just a laptop thing unless you pay to have super speakers put into it. Plus the speakers are under it rather than on the sides of the screen.

Summary I love this laptop because of it's features usability, beauty, value and the fact that it will hopefully not out date too quickly. I would recommend it to anyone. It can be used for anything: school, home, business or just goofing off. It's versatility and style make it a great combo for all apps. I am saying all of this even after I have had my hard drive fail less than 30 days after purchasing it. I am having difficulty with the manufacturer not wanting to replace it with it becoming unstable again the day after the hard drive replacement. Which is the same thing that happened a couple of days after I bought it I just didn't realize what a problem that the message I saw would wind up being. It said I had had multiple sudden shutdowns and it was causing my system to be unstable. Then about three weeks after buying it I was using it one minute and it was complete harddrive failure the next. So, I am having a hard time with the seller and manufacturer going back and forth wanting to just repair it and repair it. I don't want something that has been repaired all up and is less than 30 days old which I paid over 600 dollars for. I just got a defective one. But I love this laptop so much I want another one just like it!! It is such a wonderful machine!!! I would definitely recommend it to anyone!!!!!! Top notch!

Summary For about $500 you're hard pressed to find a better laptop. Win 7 Home Premium 64bit, 4 gig ram and 500 gig hdd. Would be better with a newer processor but for the money it's hard to beat. The multi-touch track pad is a nice little suprise.

Summary I loved the performance on my Asus gaming computer, and became sold on the brand, but there were two things I hated -- short battery life and cheesy appearance (very unprofessional, making it difficult to take it to work). So when I needed to replace it (after only a year -- spilled coffee on it -- oops), this one fixed both issues, at a fraction of the cost. Lighter weight, better battery life, much nicer, low-key appearance. I do some video work, so not being able to use my firewire is a pain (I had been using an express card, and this does not have a slot for it). And for those rare times I make video calls on skype, the .3 megapixel webcam is a pain. But other than that, this is wonderful. I have been using a macbook as well, and being able to carry over the habit of two-finger scroll is very nice -- good to have the consistency. Some of the software I use (Finale) works much better with a number pad, so having that is a big plus too. Overall, as much as I loved the old G50, this is better in ALMOST every way. Only complaints are lack of firewire, hdmi, and better webcam. Everything else is an improvement here.
