Pros it looks good on paper

Cons google "g73jh gpu problems" that pretty much sums up what you will expect, the video card sucks and it overheats

Summary bottom line don't buy this because you will have to RMA it as soon as you get it. I had to send it in after 5 days of owning it and i was playing dragon age.... not very graphic intensive.... it is taking 2 months and counting to get my computer back.... 2 months! buy an MSI gaming laptop, or a Toshiba, or get an asus with an nvidia card, supposedly ati runs hot.... stay away from this computer especially because it costs so much

Pros Cheap for it's on-paper specifications.

Cons - The touchpad malfunctions on these laptops in warm or humid environments.
- Keystrokes don't all register when playing games.
- ASUS (and BestBuy) refuse to acknowledge these issues.

Summary I have your problems, plus the touchpad doesn't work, and both ASUS and BestBuy are doing NOTHING about it.

The problem: my built-in touchpad stops working due to either warmth or humidity from non-touching proximity of my hands. The pad worked fine during a trip to Tucson, Arizona, so I figure either the dryness or the coolness of the hotel room made the difference. But I need my computer to work IN MY HOME where I LIVE. But BestBuy says I need to have the touchpad "repaired" THREE TIMES before they'll consider a replacement, and even then it will be with another laptop of the SAME MODEL.

And get this: BestBuy (Harrison Street, San Francisco) had problems with the touchpad in their store display unit for that model AS WELL. After they repaired it, it still didn't work. On these grounds, I asked to skip the repair process and exchange the computer for a different model (ideally a Toshiba). They then claimed "not to be sure" anymore that their store unit had the same problems, and refused to check their records to confirm what I was talking about. I explained why that wasn't reasonable, and then they decided that "Even if there is a problem with all units of this model, it doesn't matter to us until ASUS tells us." So I am stuck with a piece of craptop until ASUS decides they care.

The business structure of the GeekSquad (BestBuy tech support dept) places no accountability on their employees to behave respectably toward their customers, because they operate as a "separate company" from the sales departments and the rest of the store... so they have no incentive to care about the customer.

DO NOT BUY A COMPUTER FROM BEST BUY. The company is *designed* to offer you poor customer support. And don't buy from ASUS, either.

Pros Nice laptop when it works. Big, pretty fast, like the screen resolution. Really haven't had a chance to do much with it yet, I've only had it 16 hours.

Cons I've had it 16 hours, it's crashed (blue screen) 3 times already. Haven't loaded anything on it yet, just been using it to surf the net.

Summary Might be nice if it worked. I will return to Best Buy tomorrow, I know they will replace. I will update the review when I get a chance to use it for longer then a few hours.

Pros Decent screen size. Backlit keyboard a plus.

Cons Video doesn't work. Lots of problems with the video drivers. Surf the net & you'll find hundreds of complaints about "black screen" and "gray screen of death". ATI & Asus have maximized the fail on this one.

Summary At first I loved the laptop. For about a week. Then I installed a few programs and started to notice problems, especially with the video. As the problems became more prevalent I dug deeper. Forums all over the Internet started talking about "random vertical lines" and "black screens". Asus was blaming the ATI video drivers. ATI was blaming the Asus BIOS. The consumer was stuck in the middle. As the random black screens & "video striping" became more frequent it became obvious that neither ATI nor Asus was claiming the problem and it was not about to be resolved anytime soon.

A patch came out in August. New BIOS and new video BIOS. The problem became less frequent but still was not 100% resolved. Photoshop would push the video driver & the display would tweak out. Starcraft II never worked properly, more than 50 moving graphics on the screen and the cursor became corrupted.

Now today, less than 4 months after buying the laptop the screen just stopped working. It worked fine most of the day, then nothing. Now every time it boots I get a black screen. External HDMI monitor works fine, but the main screen is dead.

The "awesome Asus warranty" that they tout? Useless. With a critical system failure they have ZERO options for advanced replacement, even though I offered to prepay. The turnaround time is "ABOUT A WEEK". Which, from past experience with laptop service centers really means "ABOUT A MONTH, MAYBE TWO".

Bottom line - STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT. IT IS FATALLY FLAWED.
