"Best computer I have ever owned"
on by GamaelielPros Fast boot. Excellent configuration memory. Phenominal graphics. Surpurb processing speed. Amazingly tough and solid construction. Qutie light for the amount of power inside.
Cons Short battery life (to be expected given the weight and power). Hard disc in/out not as fast as it might be.
Summary I have been buying personal computers since they first existed. My first computer purchase was in 1974 (Radio Shack Model 1). I bought the very first "lap-top" model DELL made (and still have it). Since 1982 I have been buying a new set of computers every two years. The ASUS G73jh I now own is what I have been looking for since I first started. The physical construction is rock solid and it is covered with a rubberized armor that reminds me of the highest quality military binoculars. The backlit keyboard is absolutely stable and solid, so much so that it seems an intregal part of the computer case. The huge screen is probably the clearest, sharpest monitor I have ever seen. The only fault I read about in the reviews that might have turned me off was the supposed inability to deactivate the touch pad. My model has a function key that does just that. I have several locations where I use the computer and different sets of keyboards, mice, monitors, etc. I can put the G73 to sleep on one configuration and wake it up on another and it immediately recognizes the new configuration. The boot time is incredably fast from a full shut down. the longest so far other than when updating, was about 30 seconds.
I play high level graphics games as well as running a very graphics intensive professional program. The G73 breezes through scenarios that used to take minutes in mere seconds. For Gaming it is about as good as it gets. The HD I/O sometimes causes some minor hesitation in high level games set to the highest screen resolution and highest graphics settings. I currently am playing STALKER Call of Prypiat, and with all graphics set to the highest level, while running an external high res monitor with the laptop monitor showing a web page map, there is no noticable lag except when high disc I/O is happening.

"I love this computer it has become my new desktop."
on by Nafarious8GPros It runs games seamlessly, can handle alot of things at once. Multiple web browsers, itunes, youtube, sony vegas. I could go on and on. The gist is that it is a very well built computer that I never have had any speedy problems with.
Cons There are alot sadly. Beyond the basics of short battery life and bulk.
1. The computer over heats all the time, I have tried many things and finally seem to have it under control.
2. Random freezes and crashes, I assume it is my fault but asus help lineSummary I would recomend this computer but not to some child who things it is the right choice for a school computer this is more of a desktop than anything. I love it despite its problems
