Pros Slick design, excellent battery life, good keyboard, very lightweited and thing, work well then tathered with android phone
Cons Kinda clumsy with 1GB memory, you can do 1 operation per time - no multitasking (but I guess that's ok then you are talking about netbook)
Summary It's a bit overprised but probably best in the line of netbooks
Pros This is a very capable PC in every way, stylish and easy to configure. Make sure you understand however that even a top rated NetBook like this one will run slower than any currently selling cheap laptop.
Cons Mouse button is too firm, Yo have to press so hard to get it to click that I often have problems with dragging icons. ou can just use touchpad however, which is what I usually do. It works great.
Summary I you know you need a Netbook, you won't go wrong with this one.
"A Grade Netbook"on by aqnguyen87
Pros Decent performance. Good battery life.
Cons Windows 7 starter blows. No restore/install disks given, must create with external dvd drive
Summary Initial setup took awhile. No restore/install disks mean you have to have an external drive to make yourself. But overall internet performance is great, very speedy. Videos stutter a little, but still watchable. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate from my own copy as the starter edition is crapware. Battery is at best 4-5 hours (thats good for a portable) of realistic use, video viewing, music listening, web surfing. I have Office 2010 installed and the first try actually failed, I had to run it as customized install for it to work. Speakers are good, but mono only. Webcam is okie, some pixelation but bad in low light conditions. Trackpad is smooth, but finger gestures arent as snappy. Once all the setup and restore disks are created, its a good reliable machine. The only real limitations is the software, upgrade those and its a heck of a machine. I have no use for a webcam, so the quality of that doesn't bother me. Overall I am happy with my purchase. 4.5 stars for no restore disks and windows 7 starter.
Pros Good laptop as long as you will not want to upgrade to a new operating system in the future
Cons If you upgrade your pc or laptop to a newer OS many functions will be lost including the built in webcam, volume dial control, microphone, etc.
Asus does not make drivers for new Operating systems.
Summary Dont buy it.
Pros 1. Great value
2. Perfect size: big enough to type easily but small enough to fit in a ziplock bag
3. Fast load
Cons 1. Shorter battery life than advertised
2. Loaded with bloatware
Summary To make this the ideal computer, you'll have to uninstall most of the bloatware that asus and best buy preinstall. Then you'll want to customize the computer by downsizing icons. Finally, install chrome as your browser (with chrome the browsing is lightning fast), abiword as your word processor, komodo as your IDE, and Gnumeric as your excel knockoff. Presto: you've got an awesome piece of hardware that costs a fraction of what you'd pay for a macbook air.The 'helpful' Geek Squad clerk at Best Buy told me it was a bad idea to install linux on this box, so I stuck it out with windows 7 as long as possible. But, of course, windows 7 became unbearable and I finally bit the bullet and loaded up Ubuntu Desktop. After getting over the initial learning curve (get ready...it's a bear), I think I have the perfect machine. Unlike Windows 7, every peripheral works straight out of the box, and it's lightning fast. If only netflix worked on linux! Luckily, I was able to keep windows 7 for the sole purpose of watching netflix, but for everything else, I boot Ubuntu. It seems like Ubuntu Desktop was made for this notebook.
