"Just purchased this laptop: best I've ever owned."
on by bmmayhewPros Screen is gorgeous. SSD makes this laptop extraordinarily fast. Owned an SSD Lenovo prior to my MacBook and there is no comparison. Coming from a series of windows-based laptops, the security is top notch but not intrusive to my day-to-day use.
Cons Had to buy Office for Mac software (in addition to Pages, Numbers, etc) because of my work documents. Lack of DVD/CD drive is a drag but much of what my data is already digital and this will only continue to be the case going forward.
Summary Overall, best laptop I've ever owned. The speed, screen resolution, security and battery life are tremendous. I am a heavy user and this laptop handles it and then some. Added bonus is the ability to sync across my phone, tablet and laptop.

Base storage (Nothing a hard drive can't fix)Summary Okay... I admite there is some flaws, everything has flaws, but it is nothing that you cannot fix. A simple hard drive or a flash drive does make the problem go away. If only the terabyte flash drive was cheap! If you are looking for a work computer for school or work this is perfect. Gamers find it less appealing, but they still like the computer for non-gaming tasks. It is also a great computer for the movie industry because of it's display and features. It does look kind of look like a macbook air, but I like the look. It is sharp, and unlike my old computers has never over heated (Don't take my word, I have not played and heavy duty games or programs yet, but I bet it can easily handle it). Overall an amazing computer.

Battery life
PerformanceCons Pretty expensive... okay... really really really really expensive.
Summary I can run as many applications as I want with no drops in performance. I love the track pad gestures and dictation. Screen and speakers are great for media, Also love AirPlay. If you can afford it, it is well worth it if you need to run many intense applications. Its also my first Apple computer, and it has exceeded all of my expectations.

Screen is absolutely amazing. Crisp text with zero pixelation. Awesome machine.Cons Only two USB 3.0 ports. Would like one more.
Summary Best machine I've ever owned. The combination of ultra fast performance, 6 hour battery life, and amazingly sharp and clear screen can't be beat.

1:The lack of an upgradable ram (being stuck at 8GB) for a so called "pro" model is simply stupid.
2: The next HUGE negative is the lack of the discrete graphics card.
3 Price. FAR too expensive for the missing hardware.Summary Do not buy this computer. The drawbacks outweigh the positives.
Sure it's got a "retina display" and Dual thunderbolt connections. However for Apple to call this a professional level laptop is simply mind blowing. This is a moderately beefed up MacBook Air with a Retina display and nothing more. If you happen to do 3D modelling or working in the world of 2K or Full HD video, You're going to want a laptop with a GPU.
VERY disappointed Apple!
