Pros Its an Apple, Intel Core Duo Processor, included iSight, brighter screen, better ATI1600 graphics card, bragging rights
Cons unknown battery life, no known major software improvements, i feel gypped now
Summary i have a 15" Powerbook that i bought about 6mos ago, and i love it, so i am going to ASSUME that the MacBook is going to be just as good, hence the 8 rating, but i do not understand why everyone is giving it perfect tens, or for that matter fours (Mr. Alienware). The one thing that i hate about CNET is that they let people rate products before they are even released to the public. e.g. PS3, Revolution, even the 360 before it was released. I guess there will always be some asinine people around.
Pros magnificent package and stability
Cons should have 1 GB RAM as standard
Summary CNET should have tested the battery life and the processor speed, before listing it as a "downside". How can something be a disadvantage if you don't even HAVE the data? That's sloppy and biased reviewing.

Pros ahh intel processor!
Cons why wait till february?!?!?!?
Summary Omg, i love this computer already! I was going to get th 12 inch powerbook until this baby came out. I was in love with the powerbook for its size. I have a older powerbook, and it is mostly the same. This is totally new! Thinner, lighter! I forget the name righ tnow, but the hometheater thing? not exactly sure of the name. It includes the remote. I love the built in isight, especially cause it comes with a miniature photoshop built in. The remote makes everything so much easier. A LIGHT UP KEYBOARD! I was planning on getting a special keyboard that would light up. Not anymore! The newer, bigger touch pad makes it easier to maneuver the documents and web. ah, im in love!
Pros MAC OS is stable, and elegant
Cons No software releases to take advantage of duel processor
Summary What you dont know and Apple will only tell if asked, is if you are a professional media developer, you will "not be able to run most software programs on this computer - yet". The pro rep I just spoke with said that verbatum.
I am a documentary film maker and learned that Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Adobe Creative Suite, and more of our loved program will not run on this computer as the software has not been developed to run on the intel platform. When those versions called "Universal" are released, you will have to pay a crossgrade fee of no less than $99 per title to upgrade to software that will run on the duel platform. Not just run effeciently, but run period. My shock was met with the comment "but with 4 times the speed you will make up for the difference in cost to crossgrade" I'm sure I can let my client's know that since their video programs were edited on a computer that is 4 times faster than their own they will jumping up and down to pay me more. This is a very serious issue that you need to know about prior to buying. In addition to the crossgrade costs, Apple, Windows, Adobe and Macromedia have plans to release "Universal" versions some time this year! Not next week or even next month but sometime this year.
Pros It looks nice and has loud speakers unlike the other macbooks where the speakers are located behind the screen. Thus making it hard to hear at times. I have a 17 inch and it's so clear to watch movies and do miscellaneous things.
Cons There were 2 incidents where my computer's screen didn't work. I would try to turn my Mac on and than the screen would just shut down. I had to reboot the computer twice erasing everything. There were times when my mouse and keyboard didn't work.
Summary Overall it is a good computer with some defects. Many people have had problems with the "black screen" malfunction but Apple has warranty on it. If it didn't have warrant the cost would've come out to $1100.
The reason for a 3.5 rating is because I have had two big incidents of the black screen malfunction causing me so much inconvenience. It would've cost me so much money but the person at the apple store hooked me big time and I walked out paying nothing.
Overall it has cool applications, its unique and I don't regret buying it
