"WHY IS ANYONE RATING THIS ALREADY!!!!!!"

4 stars  | on by R_P_Claudio

Pros

Its an Apple, Intel Core Duo Processor, included iSight, brighter screen, better ATI1600 graphics card, bragging rights

Cons

unknown battery life, no known major software improvements, i feel gypped now

Summary

i have a 15" Powerbook that i bought about 6mos ago, and i love it, so i am going to ASSUME that the MacBook is going to be just as good, hence the 8 rating, but i do not understand why everyone is giving it perfect tens, or for that ... Read full review

i have a 15" Powerbook that i bought about 6mos ago, and i love it, so i am going to ASSUME that the MacBook is going to be just as good, hence the 8 rating, but i do not understand why everyone is giving it perfect tens, or for that matter fours (Mr. Alienware). The one thing that i hate about CNET is that they let people rate products before they are even released to the public. e.g. PS3, Revolution, even the 360 before it was released. I guess there will always be some asinine people around.

"Nice computer with loud speakers"

3.5 stars  | on by syi003

Pros

It looks nice and has loud speakers unlike the other macbooks where the speakers are located behind the screen. Thus making it hard to hear at times. I have a 17 inch and it's so clear to watch movies and do miscellaneous things.

Cons

There were 2 incidents where my computer's screen didn't work. I would try to turn my Mac on and than the screen would just shut down. I had to reboot the computer twice erasing everything. There were times when my mouse and keyboard didn't work.

Summary

Overall it is a good computer with some defects. Many people have had problems with the "black screen" malfunction but Apple has warranty on it. If it didn't have warrant the cost would've come out to $1100.
The reason for a 3.5 rating is because I have ... Read full review

The reason for a 3.5 rating is because I have had two big incidents of the black screen malfunction causing me so much inconvenience. It would've cost me so much money but the person at the apple store hooked me big time and I walked out paying nothing.
Overall it has cool applications, its unique and I don't regret buying it

"Thin, light, efficient, great battery life, works perfectly out of the box"

4.5 stars  | on by renacat

Pros

5 hour battery life, keyboard has nice "feel", stable easy-to-learn software

Cons

Runs hot, doesn't have text based BIOS like pc's, speakers are just okay

Summary

I don't like my computer running hot, so I downloaded the free app called Fan Control, which makes the fans run more, but the computer doesn't heat up as much. The hardware is definitely worth the money, because there are tons of "little" features - the screen brightness ... Read full review

I don't like my computer running hot, so I downloaded the free app called Fan Control, which makes the fans run more, but the computer doesn't heat up as much. The hardware is definitely worth the money, because there are tons of "little" features - the screen brightness and keyboard backlighting adjusts to ambient light, the power cord is magnetic, the trackpad is huge and can scroll up, down, and sideways on a page. The advantage of a Mac over a PC is mostly the little details that make your life so much easier. I'm very happy with my decision.
