  • "All the latest components in an irresistible laptop."
    on by jcknows0

Pros 1. Pcie flash storage in a consumer device 700 MB/s Read 450 Write in the Base 13 model.
    2. Gigabit wireless for the truly portable laptop
    3. Super efficient memory and processor for extremely long battery life (well over 12 hours under normal use

Cons 1. Price is still high but its Apple
    2. Non-consumer upgradeable memory so make sure 4 GBs is all you need (I special ordered for 8 GB just in case)
    3. Proprietary connector for pcie storage keeps third-party suppliers out and price of components up

Summary I have tested a top of the line 2011 MacBook Air, 2012 Base 13 and now the 2013 model and this for a number of reasons beats the last two generations hands down on several key factors. I know a lot of people wanted a retina display but the current display is more than adequate for most people and keeps the battery life well over 12 hours. The addition of pcie storage in a mid-range consumer device is probably Apple's most revolutionary achievement here not to mention the addition of Gigabit Wireless since they are one of the first to market. The processor speeds are the same as last year but are fitting and are supplemented by a healthy bump in networking and I/O increases. I would recommend to anyone looking to enjoy their computing device.

  • "ID is qbdataseerviceuser20 and some other crap"
    on by solomon25

Pros Looks nice, keyboard feels good.

Cons My Mac is called qbdataserviceuser20 I think. Couldnt just dump the pictures folder into the pictures folder, downloads into downloads? Apple id doesnt work, mail doesnt work, Safari is a cumbersome bookmarking and I just started using it.

Summary **** poor for the money.
