  • "Amazingly fast, incredibly portable"
    on by Rob Pettengill

    Pros Fast Processor
    Faster SSD
    Big SSD
    High speed I/O for external disks
    Beautiful, strong, lightweight package

    Cons It's not a free upgrade.
    11 inch air (although as small as an iPad + keyboard) has a shorter battery life (4-5 hours).

    Summary I gave up my larger Macbook pro for a 2010 Air when I realized that the SSD made more difference to me than a faster processor. Over the past 2 years I found that the 128 GB SSD wasn't large enough for me. Not only does this upgrade give 512GB, and 256KB SSD storage options and the CPU is 3X faster than the 2010 air. The high speed USB 3, and Thunderbolt I/O make it a great desktop replacement when hooked up to a big monitor and disks.

  • "Great box for the traveler"
    on by kmjinx

    Pros Portability and packing ease

    Cons None for me. I like the MBAir best

    Summary I just purchased the new improved version today. It seems a bit faster overall. Memory is double from the previous base model, which I traded in for this newest edition. I have tried nearly every smaller size laptop available and always go back to the MBAir. Nothing to not like about this box if you travel a lot and need to minimize size of the pack you pack!

  • "awful computers waste of money"
    on by knfoucart

    Pros absolutely nothing

    Cons computers dont hold a charge

  • "Solid machine in a tight package"
    on by Carlnolip

    Pros Small and light, great battery life, excellent screen quality, nice touch pad, super quality, this machine does not over promise, it gives more then you would expect.

    Cons price, if you want quality your gonna have to pay for it.

    Summary We bought the i5 with the new ivy bridge CPU, 8 gigs of ram and 128ssd, which cost us about $1600. For me that seems to be about double the cost, compared to other machines on the market, but I have gone through many a laptop and have yet to use one that holds to the quality Apple puts into its products.

    Gaming, who would of thought this tiny machine with no dedicated video card could play anything, let alone all the top games. This little machine will knock your socks off, using the mac OS or Windows. I play Wow, SWtor, GW2 and COD all set to the highest settings. The machine gets hot but always works, in fact it will shut its self down to cool off before the components inside get wrecked, so I found out when I left the machine on the dash of my car on one of the hottest days of the summer and tried to play a game.

    Viruses, have yet to run into a problem on any of my Mac products 5 years now

    Windows, I put windows on all my Apple computers using boot camp and find the OS runs just as good if not better. With storage being so affordable now I use a 1tb WD passport with Windows 7 on it. I have also used a flash drive to do this too.

    This is a great machine that I hope gets better, I would love to see this size of computer with a touch screen.

  • "Great Laptop!"
    on by Marcus2477

    Pros ++ I can open it on a plane in coach!
    ++ Very fast
    ++ Sharp Screen
    ++ Light up key board, really helps on night flights.
    ++ Super Light - in my bag, I can barley tell its there.
    ++ Great re-sale value

    Cons ++ Solid 12" screen would have been nice, there seems to plenty of room in the bezel for more screen.
    ++ Expensive, but worth it
    ++ More battery life would be nice

    Summary I have a few computers I use on the day-to-day. 13" Mac Book Pro i7, iPad and my office-issued Dell. By far this is the best of all of the computers that I use. The 11.6" screen is perfect for most of my work needs. Docs, Excel, light web updates, building online course work, Skype, and of course e-mail. I use this in my day to day work.
