"Amazingly fast, incredibly portable"
on by Rob PettengillPros Fast Processor
Faster SSD
Big SSD
High speed I/O for external disks
Beautiful, strong, lightweight packageCons It's not a free upgrade.
11 inch air (although as small as an iPad + keyboard) has a shorter battery life (4-5 hours).Summary I gave up my larger Macbook pro for a 2010 Air when I realized that the SSD made more difference to me than a faster processor. Over the past 2 years I found that the 128 GB SSD wasn't large enough for me. Not only does this upgrade give 512GB, and 256KB SSD storage options and the CPU is 3X faster than the 2010 air. The high speed USB 3, and Thunderbolt I/O make it a great desktop replacement when hooked up to a big monitor and disks.

"Great box for the traveler"
on by kmjinxPros Portability and packing ease
Cons None for me. I like the MBAir best
Summary I just purchased the new improved version today. It seems a bit faster overall. Memory is double from the previous base model, which I traded in for this newest edition. I have tried nearly every smaller size laptop available and always go back to the MBAir. Nothing to not like about this box if you travel a lot and need to minimize size of the pack you pack!

"Great Laptop!"
on by Marcus2477Pros ++ I can open it on a plane in coach!
++ Very fast
++ Sharp Screen
++ Light up key board, really helps on night flights.
++ Super Light - in my bag, I can barley tell its there.
++ Great re-sale valueCons ++ Solid 12" screen would have been nice, there seems to plenty of room in the bezel for more screen.
++ Expensive, but worth it
++ More battery life would be niceSummary I have a few computers I use on the day-to-day. 13" Mac Book Pro i7, iPad and my office-issued Dell. By far this is the best of all of the computers that I use. The 11.6" screen is perfect for most of my work needs. Docs, Excel, light web updates, building online course work, Skype, and of course e-mail. I use this in my day to day work.

"Lightweight and powerful, perfect for travel"
on by blasherPros Light Weight
Surprisingly Fast and Powerful
Love the SSD Speed
Thunderbolt can also be used for HDMI or RJ45 Ethernet with adapter- cool!
The screen is bright, crisp and clear
OS XCons Battery doesn't last as long as the 13" Air, but then there is also no space for a larger battery.
Summary Initially I was going to get a new iPad 3 with keyboard, but I wanted to do a bit more than an iPad can do, but not anything that would require the power (or heft) of a Pro. So I decided to give the Air a look. I was torn between the 11" and 13" screen and went with the 11" with i7, 256GB HD and 8GB RAM. It's the perfect size for travel and has way more power and speed than I expected... and it's so light The screen works well for mail, word processing, graphics, etc, and is the perfect size for movies. I'm very happy with this 11" Air.
I have also ordered a HyperJuice 2 external battery that can power the Air for "up to 50 hours" and also can charge my iPhone at the same time. -
