  • "Very frustrating, wouldn't recommend"

    Pros Light up keys
    Sleek design
    Reasonable performance

    Cons Screen
    Touchpad
    Overheating
    Battery
Plastic material brittle and dirt prone

Summary The screen on this laptop began to develop these bright spots after only a few days of use. Not dead pixels, unable to get rid of them. Now, after having this for a month, there are 7 or 8 of these bright spots all around the screen and they are incredibly irritating.
Also, the touch screen itself isn't very smooth and isn't pleasing to use most of the time. It is incredibly fingerprint prone.
Laptop often overheats, not to a point where it crashes, but I find that I'm often unable to actually use it on my lap. I even have to avoid resting my hand on it when this occurs, and use the touchpad as little as possible.
On to the touch pad, it is also a hassle to use at times. It will not do what I want it to if there is a piece of fabric touching it. My tshirt is often sitting on the edge of it as I use it on my lap, and the touchpad will stop responding to clicks and whatnot. Also, every so often, the touchpad decides it no longer wants to recognise multi-finger gestures and swipes from the edge, which are relatively vital elements of W8. Requires a restart to fix this.
And finally, the battery. A reasonable battery life which I'm not unhappy with, however for some reason it has begun to die when there is 15% or so left. No 'battery low' warning, no 'battery extremely low' warning. This has only started happening recently, in the last week or so. Not a settings issue, incredibly frustrating.

Although this laptop performs reasonably, and many of my complaints are of minor issues, it is the minor issues that can irritate people to the point where you will find an 'Acer Aspire'-sized hole in their bedroom wall. Would not recommend.
