Pros I am able to download music and family portraits. I am also able to play a few games.
Cons Not enough storage, and I don't like the fact the you can't really personalize your computer with your very own background pictures. When I go on a website the computer stops responding.
Summary When I purchased my Acer Aspire One, I was excited because I finally had my own computer, and I was able to do a lot of things with it. However, after a short while I began to have issues with this computer. When trying to do important things like fill out job applications, turning in class assignments, or emailing family members, it starts to freeze up. Then it pops up saying this certain website is not responding. Sometimes my whole computer freezes up and I have to shut it down and reboot it. After doing that, I can work on it for a small amount of time before it does it again. I should have kept my money and purchased a bigger computer.
Pros Very tiny, very lite weight, has a decent screen, nice style, large hardrive, decent RAM, built in webcam
Cons It is too slow, no I mean it is extremly slow, and it hang-ups every day.
Summary If you want to waste $200, or your habbits do not go beyond checking your email,it is your product.Browsing the Internet is unbearably slow.It has some system problems.Loading Thundebird takes forevere. When it is in my home network and I am transferring files from or to it, it hang-ups in 10 min. I suspect something wrong with its wireless card. I will never buy an acer again.I had D250 before and its gone in 2 years.Well... stepped on the same garden rake twice.
Pros Very light weight, fairly crisp screen, obviously very inexpensive (especially if you snagged it on black friday). It is moderately upgradeable and the layout of the system (plug locations, etc) is good.
Cons Way too much bloatware included on the system - has W7 Starter which is OK, but lacks a lot of fundamental necessities. Be sure you hit "Programs and Features" and delete all the extra junk on there.
Summary It is what it is. It's a cheap little netbook with a decent hard drive, the ability to be upgraded a little bit, and the right connections in the right places. It is not a desktop replacement... it's not even a laptop replacement. Realistically, there are phones with more power... but for $150-$230, it really can't be beat. If you need something quick and easy for nothing more than documents, internet and some basic computing, it really is a solid option - though I highly recommend doing the memory upgrade. It's worth it.
Pros Easy to use. Bought it for my totally computer-illiterate wife (age 75) who learned to use it in an evening and is now using email, Facebook and web browsing like a pro. She won't let it out of her site.
Cons None, if you use it for its intended purpose.
Summary Much faster than I suspected with plenty of RAM and HD capacity. Light enough to take anywhere. Incredible value at $200.
Pros Very tiny, very lite weight, has a decent screen, nice style, runs very good, large hardrive, decent RAM, built in webcam
Cons Speakers are not loud at all, and that's about it. It only runs Windows 7 starter
Summary I purchased this computer for $200 at Walmart. I guess they were on a nice sale. It's normally like $300. Anyway, this is worth even the $300. The RAM is very decent, the screen looks good and it runs perfectly fine. You can even web chat with friends or for business. This obviously isn't a CPU made for games. It's meant for portability, web surfing, conferences, chatting and even good for video. With the large hardrive, you can put many movies and a lot of music on it. For the price, I say it's worth it. Don't expect to play any games however. To be perfectly clear.
