If you need a little help with entertaining, the Quick Tap Refrigerator is ready to handle the drinks. One of the biggest changes from Amana's usual refrigerator designs to this version is a beverage dispenser on the front of the fridge door, where an ice dispenser might be on another refrigerator. You can fill the dispenser with up to 3 liters of refreshments like margaritas, and your guests can help themselves to perfectly chilled drinks. The dispenser does require a little extra cleaning and dispenser valves should be replaced every six months or so. The Quick Tap Refrigerator also includes a wine rack and can rack. The wine rack can hold up to five full-size bottles at a time.
The Quick Tap Refrigerator isn't just for parties, though. This all-purpose fridge comes with standard features like easy-to-clean shelves and plenty of room for your family's food. There's even enough room in the door to securely fit gallon jugs of milk. Crisper drawers and an easy temperature control system round out the Quick Tap Refrigerator's standard offerings. You can also choose options like an ice maker. The fridge is available in red with silver trim, as well as silver.
Wine collecting made easy.
(Credit: Williams-Sonoma)It can be difficult to collect wine. It's not necessarily the entry price or the learning curve, as there are numerous varietals that are attractively priced, and a plethora of written advice is always only a few clicks away. No, what makes collecting wine difficult as opposed to baseball cards or classic cars is that wine is consumed. However, sometimes a collection need only be a few bottles strong.
The Cuisinart 8-Bottle Wine Cellar is a perfect solution for oenophiles who frequently "update" their collection. Holding either 750 milliliter or 1,500 milliliter bottles, the wine fridge combines aesthetics and practicality. It runs silent, as it uses thermoelectric cooling technology, which makes it an ideal model for countertop use. With eight preprogrammed temperature settings, it offers convenience at the touch of a button. Full manual control is also an option, and the refrigerator can chill wines to 20 degrees below ambient temperature.
An interior light illuminates your collection when the door is opened; the light can also be left on so as to show off your collection. The unit measures 10 inches by 17 inches, with a height of 17.25 inches. While the wine cellar doesn't take up much room, when it's time to grow your collection, a 16-bottle model and a 32-bottle model are also available. Just be careful, as then it would appear you've become a wine collector.
Chilled wine on the countertop.
(Credit: Organize.com)Countertop appliances are convenient, plentiful, and seemingly available for any particular need. From toaster ovens to rice cookers, the small devices have found a way into our kitchens, offering us easy usability and specialized functions all without taking up too much room. Having an army of small appliances ready to do our culinary bidding may be handy and useful, but sometimes it's just about storage. In the case of this particular countertop device, it's about wine storage.
The Wine Enthusiast Silent 12 Bottle Countertop Wine Refrigerator keeps your favorite wines at the correct temperature and ready to drink. The easy access storage solution not only acts as a functional device, but it takes advantage of its freestanding countertop design by looking sleek and stylish. With a 12-bottle capacity while standing only 15 inches tall (15.75 inches wide and 19.75 inches deep), the small refrigerator maximizes its space, while providing enough chilled wine to keep the party going.
Looking good on the countertop may be a feature of this compact wine chiller, but it also offers silent operation. Using thermoelectric cooling, which requires no moving parts, the compact refrigerator can stay in constant operation without being a distraction. Complete with interior light and digital display, this countertop machine looks good and offers convenience normally reserved for toasters and microwaves. While I doubt the toaster is going to get jealous anytime soon, it will have to learn how to share some space.

The unit blends with other AEG-Electrolux stainless steel built-ins, giving you a beautiful six shelves of column storage for up to 36 bottles of wine. It's designed to keep your wine at an appropriate storage temperature, boasting a set of childproof temperature controls and an air circulation system that ensures that cold air is distributed evenly among your reds and whites. If you need to store them at different temperatures, you can take advantage of two temperature zones.
The wine chiller is available in left- or right-handed configurations, so you can rest assured that you'll find one that fits with your existing kitchen.
Looking fine.
(Credit: Liebherr)While most people prefer to gaze upon the television screen during their downtime, some have rather more, uh, sophisticated viewing tastes. As in tastes comparable to their palates. Turns out, directly comparable. For those who need to mix their viewing habits more in tune with their oenophilic tendencies, there is a solution. Mount a wine cabinet next to the TV.
Ridiculous, you say? Well, wine is commonly thought of as best stored in wine cellars, but many options do exist for the modern home or apartment. While most wine refrigeration units are designed to simply be an effective means of storage, there are options that choose to highlight the wine (read: show it off). Additionally for homeowners, there is an option to create your own wine cellar. For those that wish to blend storage and display, the Liebherr HWS 1800 might be the way to go.
The stainless-steel integrated wine cabinet rests at eye level and is at once a centerpiece and refrigeration unit. Holding 18 bottles of wine, the modular chiller features a recessed handle for flush mounting with cabinetry. The UV-coated insulated glass door houses two sliding solid beech wood shelves, while the interior is bathed in a dimmable low energy LED light. The temperature is adjustable from 41 degrees F to 68 degrees F, and the unit also includes an activated charcoal filter to soak up any unwanted odors. What you prefer to watch, however, is entirely up to you. Something tells me that if this is the wine fridge for you, you won't be watching channel two (as in Two Buck Chuck.) Available fall 2009.

Coming to the kitchen as what appears to be the first of its kind, this contraption keeps drinks cold when you're nowhere near the icebox.
The sink, designed by Meneghini, uses either air or water refrigeration to cool beverages and snacks. All you do is press a button, and a compressor that sits in the bottom of the sink pushes cold water or air through the perforated disk that sits underneath your refreshments.
The sink has specially designed metal fixtures that act as bottle rests and a center peg that can be used as a platform for a plate of fruit or cheese. If you'd prefer not to use refrigeration, it functions as a normal sink.

Samsung has set the new bar for French door refrigerators with its 2009 RFG298 and RF268 models. Featuring an innovative dual ice-making system, the sleek refrigerators can create up to one and a half times the ice in refrigerators with a single ice maker.
The dual ice system is composed of an external filtered water and ice dispenser embedded in the counter-height fridge and an additional dispenser in the freezer. If you're not up to eating that much ice, you can turn one of them off: each one is independently operated. And don't let the extra ice dispenser make you worry about losing any space. Samsung gained space by using a process that limits the size of the interior insulation.
These two models also have independently operating refrigerator and freezer compartments, so each space maintains the proper humidity and temperature and your fresh produce won't smell like fish sticks.
The RFG298 is available in a stainless finish for $3,000, platinum for $2,900, and black or white for $2,700. The RF268 is coming in June in stainless for $2,500, platinum for $2,400, and black or white for $2,200.

Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not complaining about it. With gorgeous appliances like these Cube refrigerators from Siemens, you can furnish a kitchen that, well, doesn't even look like one.

The wall-mounted cube has a modest amount of space, large enough to hold drinks and snacks. It would be perfect for a minibar or a bedroom, and its design makes it pretty enough to include in the rest of your decor. It also has interchangeable panels, so you can change its appearance.

Convenience and control.
(Credit: Dacor)Family-owned Dacor showed off its new line of appliances recently at the 2009 Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Atlanta. Among the appliances on display was the Energy Star qualified Epicure 36-inch Freestanding French Door Cabinet-Depth Bottom Freezer Refrigerator. The refrigerator saves time and energy with a 20-percent energy efficient compressor, and is stated to use less energy than a 60-watt light bulb.
An easy-to-use control panel not only monitors the temperature of the freezer along with the refrigerator, but also offers some convenient options. Fast Ice automatically cools the freezer section for 24 hours, allowing for the included icemaker to produce more ice. Max Cold is another 24-hour timed mode that lowers the overall temperature. The mode is a convenient option for when the door has been opened for prolonged periods, or when loading warm foods. Other control panel options include a temperature alarm, an absent mode, and a door alarm.
The refrigerator is designed to complement your lifestyle and kitchen decor. A modular design system allows for the customization of handles to match other Dacor appliances (including the Millennia and Preference series). A large deli drawer spans the width of the refrigerator and is able to hold full-size deli trays. Fruits and vegetables can be stored in the two individually adjustable humidity-controlled crisper drawers. Energy-saving capabilities and customizable options define this feature-friendly refrigerator from Dacor.
Covers the essentials
(Credit: Summit Appliances)Sometimes the kitchen can be really far away. Say you're hanging out in the garage playing poker, working on the car, or some other garage-related activity. Suddenly the need hits for a microwaveable treat and a cold brew. The warmth of the microwave and the chill of the refrigerator may not be too far away, but it sure is convenient to have them closer. No need to journey to the kitchen when you can stock up on the essentials in the comfort of your own garage. (Also applies to attics and basements).
Check out the Summit MRF2L, a 1.8 cubic-foot free-standing compact refrigerator with a microwave and front lock. The combination device rounds out most secondary refrigerator needs (at least the most important: cold beer) and combines two popular appliances into one convenient system. It may not be a true combination appliance, but it is designed to work as one system. Allowing for one-plug operation, it uses a power allocator to limit overall power use to 10 amps, saving you trips to the circuit breaker box.
Available for about $500, the refrigerator and microwave combination isn't too pricey. For those times when the kitchen seems to get farther and farther away, it sure is nice to have a convenient option nearby. It also comes with the ability to plug in a third appliance, so you can even set up a coffee maker and truly be set.
