Set. Forget. Remember, then eat.
(Credit: Hamilton Beach)"Set it and forget it" was a popular (or at least famous) infomercial catch phrase for a Ron Popeil device, but apparently "Set & Forget" doesn't fall under Ronco umbrella of catchphrases ("Now how much would you pay?"). By removing the "it," Hamilton Beach may (or may not) have separated themselves from the original, but the fact that this indoor grill makes use of an integrated temperature probe is certainly catchy to some extent.
The Set & ForgetŪ Indoor Grill may not have anything to do with the famous pitchman, but it certainly shows its inspiration in its features. The idea is to insert the thermometer probe and an audible tone signals when the food is ready. For those who prefer not to forget their food while it is cooking, the choice remains to set the cooking time and grid temperature.
The large digital display is easy to read and shows the grill temperature and the internal temperature of the selected meat. With 72 square nches of cooking space, the grill certainly isn't the largest one out there, but it should be able to accommodate two serving portions at a time. The size allows for the nice convenience in that the nonstick grids are easily removed and are dishwasher safe. The floating hinge lid adjusts to food of different thicknesses, allowing for even cooking no matter what you are grilling.
It would seem appropriate to conclude that you should wait, because there's more, but you'll just have to wait for the infomercial to hear that line.
Chilled and ready to go.
(Credit: Hamilton Beach)Nothing beats a cool drink on a hot day. As summer heats up, we all consume a ton of drinks. As we spend more time outside enjoying the sun, it might be nice to mix it up once in a while with a nice blended drink. While most blenders aren't very portable, there is at least one that is designed to let you take the fun with you.
The Hamilton Beach Thermal Cooler Blender combines a blender and a thermos into one convenient unit. Featuring the capability to blend drinks right in the cooler, the appliance makes it easy to create your drinks and then head out the door. The cooler keeps drinks chilled for up to eight hours and is perfect for taking to summer hot spots like the beach or the park. Available in either red or blue, the unit also comes with a traditional blender jar.
Whether you're blending drinks for home or on the go, this combination appliance makes it easy to save time. With the summer season off and running, that means more time outside actually having fun. Having a cool blended drink anywhere you go certainly adds to the experience. Margaritas anyone?
No burnt coffee here.
(Credit: Hamilton Beach)There's no feeling in the world quite like the comfort of having a brewed pot of coffee standing at the ready. When the cup you are drinking is downed, nothing but a short walk to the pot separates one from another cup of coffee. In the morning, this necessity is especially true; one cup of coffee is never quite enough. Unfortunately as we make our way through the day, the pot of coffee that was once so inviting usually turns into something else altogether. The resulting unappetizing syrup must then be discarded and a new pot of coffee started. For those who need coffee now, that can be an eternity.
The BrewStation Summit Ultra 12 Cup Coffeemaker prevents coffee from scorching by removing the carafe. Instead, coffee is brewed into an insulated receptacle that maintains flavor and taste. A dispensing spigot is triggered with just one hand, getting coffee to cup quickly and easily. With no glass carafe to break, the coffeemaker stands up to even the most rushed coffee drinkers among us.
The coffeemaker has the ability to brew coffee to your liking: choose from bold, regular, small batch, or iced coffee. A programmable timer kicks in the brewing process, so a batch of fresh and warm coffee can be waiting first thing in the morning. For those who appreciate a cup of coffee right from the get-go (and all through the day), the features on this brewing machine should satisfy those cravings.
Grab it and go.
(Credit: Hamilton Beach)Summer is all about being on the go. There's good reason to be, too. The weather is nice, the kids are out of school, and it is time for vacation. We don't have time for sitting around; there's just too much fun stuff to do. Of course, this means that we also enjoy grabbing our food on the go, too. If it's a fruit smoothie, an icy drink, or a blended shake that you have in mind, what better way to truly be portable than to blend and sip from the same cup?
The Hamilton Beach Single-Serve Blender comes in red, white or black and complements your on-the-go lifestyle. Stainless-steel blades create your favorite blended drinks at a touch of a button. Conveniently sized to fit into most cars' cup holders, the mobile drink-maker is also dishwasher-safe. At the end of the day it's easy to clean up by letting the dishwasher do all the work.
Particularly well-suited for whipping up quick breakfast beverages, the blender makes it easy to get out the door in a flash. With a blender that truly lets you take your drink to go, it gives you more time to actually spend out and about--in any season.
On the road again.
(Credit: Hamilton Beach)One thing any real cook likes to do is share. Just try finding a recipe out there that "serves one." It's not going to happen. Consider the egg. A primary ingredient in many recipes, however, you never see "half an egg" called for. It's just easier to cook for more people. Therefore, it is second nature for cooks to want to share; we always have too much food around!
Sometimes sharing requires a little more effort than simply constructing a delicious meal. If there is a party in the planning, a meal has to be packed up and taken on the road. Unfortunately, that usually means cooking in one vessel, transferring to another, all to ultimately end up forgetting the cookware at your destination. Save your self some time (and quit losing containers), by combining the two into one.
The Hamilton Beach Stay or Go Slow Cooker is a good example of this cookery consolidation. The cooker provides spill resistance via a clip-lock lid that forms a tight and secure seal. The traveling slow cooker incorporates some other handy features such as a recipe name slot and a spoon incorporated directly into the handle. The 6-quart slow cooker is an ample size for most parties, and as an added bonus, recipe cards/name tag labels can be downloaded so you can let everybody at the party know that delicious recipe is yours.
This time of year, I hear that much of the country suffers from a season called "winter." Here in Houston, we bundle up when the temperature drops below 70, so I feel your pain. To get through these cold, dark days, consider adding a slow cooker to your kitchen appliance stash.
The Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 comes with--wait for it--three separate crocks in 2-, 4-, and 6-quart sizes. Why would you want such a thing? Allow me to explain.
We're a family of six here at our house, and four of those are kids under 10, so the 4-quart size is usually perfect for dinner for all of us. But sometimes the kids eat out with friends, or we're making a curry they won't touch, or something else happens that means we can manage just fine with 2 quarts. And when we do want to feed the whole brood plus guests--or to make extra portions to freeze, 6 quarts is a big crock that meets our needs quite well.
Sure, you could buy two slow cookers, but then you'd have to make room for two separate appliances. With this one, you can nest all the crocks inside a single base for easy storage. And a single lid fits all three crocks for ease of use.
Never used a slow cooker before? Think every dish will come out mushy? Think again. Check your local library for slow cooker recipe books. You'll find you can make everything--from soup and appetizers to dessert- in this versatile appliance.
Both of my husband's parents were born in Morocco. Consequently, my husband grew up eating a lot of traditional Moroccan foods, most of which involve oil. And deep frying.
As it turns out, if you do use a deep fryer and oil heated to the proper temperature, the food you cook actually absorbs less oil than if you used a pot of oil on the stove. What's more, a deep fryer is far less likely to spatter oil all over your kitchen (or worse, your face) than that giant pot.
But a deep fryer does have a few drawbacks. Namely, you fill it with oil, and it can get sticky and disgusting fairly quickly. So, in my mind, one of the most critical features in a deep fryer is that it comes apart easily and that as much of it as possible be dishwasher safe.
The Hamilton Beach 35020 Cool Touch Deep Fryer seems to fit the bill. The interior pot can be lifted out easily when cool, and it's easy to dump the contents and stick it in the dishwasher. Even better, the lid of the machine is detachable and cleans up easily. This is a huge benefit--if you've never owned a deep fryer you can't possibly understand how gross the lids get. Even the filter pops out and could probably be washed in the top rack of your dishwasher, although hot soapy water does the trick quite nicely.
If you want French fries, eggrolls, battered fried chicken, and other delicious foods that may not be the healthiest choices but that taste really good, check out this fryer. Bon appetit!
If you've been wanting to add a convection oven to your kitchen but don't have a lot of space, a convection oven built to sit on your countertop may be the answer. The Hamilton Beach Countertop Convection Oven fits nicely on most counters: it's 12.5 inches by 17.5 inches by 13.66 inches. You might assume with that small of an exterior a convection oven wouldn't have much cooking space, but the Hamilton Beach Countertop Convection Oven has a 1.1 cubic foot interior--that's enough room to cook a five-pound chicken or even two 12-inch pizzas.
The Hamilton Beach Countertop Convection Oven comes with two oven racks, two backing pans, a broil rack, a crumb tray, and a rotisserie skewer and lifter. With this convection oven, you can easily rotisserie chickens and other meat at home and you can keep a close eye on the process through the large window. Hamilton Beach also makes a countertop convection oven available without the rotisserie function. Many of the parts are dishwasher-safe, making clean up a breeze for this countertop convection oven. Its controls are easy to use, with a timer, an adjustable temperature, and other standard features. The Hamilton Beach Countertop Convection Oven is priced at approximately $150.
Ever tried to make milkshakes for more than one child at a time? They never want the same flavor, and worse, they are mightily offended by even the merest trace of the previous flavor left in the blender to contaminate the new shake. So, Mom winds up washing out the whole blender twice, which means that milkshakes are a rare treat. And that's sad.
The Hamilton Beach Dual-Wave blender wants to stop the madness. Simply load up two independent, 16-ounce serve jars with your favorite flavors and run them separately--but at the same time. And wait, there's more! Let's say Junior's gone off to bed, and now it's just you and the gang itching for some margaritas. No problem; replace the two single-serve jars with one 80-ounce jar, and blend away.
That's right--the blender can also use a single, larger jar, and it uses the power of both motors and blades to whip up your drinks in just 30 seconds. You can use the dispensing spout to let your guests serve themselves so you can all get to the business of drinking a little sooner. (Don't want your guests helping themselves? Remove the dispensing spout and cap it off;you can still pour directly from the blender.)
The blender features dishwasher-safe parts for easy clean-up. And the single-serve jars can fit inside the larger blender for storage. Two similar models are available with varying top-motor power speeds, with prices from $80 to $90.
