The new CNET is here

The new CNET is hereAfter months of testing and feedback, we launched the new CNET to 100% of our users this past week. If you have not been to CNET recently, check it out at http://www.cnet.com.

Advertisers have responded with sponsorships, and users are showing their support through their activity. Between the new site and premier integration with CBS properties, CNET is growing. July NNR numbers show unique users up 25% year over year, and page views up 13%.

So what is it that users are flocking to?
redarrow New content - Appliance and kitchen gadget coverage and the CNET Archive with over 2.5 million products and reviews dating back to 1998
redarrow Faster results - Breaking news, search results, product reviews and safe downloads all getting to users faster
redarrow Decision Making Tools like Product Finder and Related Products features, an updated search tool and more how-to videos
redarrow Trusted Reviews from our editors, as well as reviews from around the web and user opinions from the most informed tech audience in the world

All this means more opportunities for advertisers. Sony is the first partner to leverage the new storefront and content curl opportunities, and Symantec and Intel are also among the first clients to take advantage of CNET's new offerings. Julie Davenport, VP CNET Media Marketing & Solutions Perspective from Julie Davenport
Vice President Media Marketing & Solutions

For 13 years, CNET has been a trusted partner helping advertisers reach technology enthusiasts in new and meaningful ways. The new CNET will allow us to do just that through media, video, content and commerce. As one of the first sites of our size and scale to run almost completely off an API, CNET now brings opportunities to foster an even deeper connection with our audience by allowing advertisers the flexibility and speed to create programs that are relevant to the site's reviews and product information. A customized campaign means a more relevant experience for consumers, so everyone wins.

All-new integrated marketing programs will enable advertisers to purchase attribute or category based integration, front door takeover executions, such as "The Storefront." And through the use of our API, premier partners can populate their brand showcases and video channels with CNET content, their own content, widgets, blogs and more. It's like managing your own brand experience within the trusted environment of CNET, and reaching our influential audience.

The opportunities to partner have grown tremendously and as we look ahead the holiday season and beyond, we look forward to developing even more programs with you, our valued partners. Cheers!

CNET launches Economic Indicator Indexes

CNET launches Economic Indicator IndexesOn Tuesday, August 12, via live webcast from our New York office, CNET in partnership with the Consumer Electronics Association launched the CEA-CNET Consumer Sentiment Indexes. The Indexes measure consumer expectations about the future, and will be released each month providing market observers with a new economic indicator -- both generally and with regards to technology. Claudia Haase, CNET's Director of Research partnered with Shawn DuBravac, CEA Economist, to build the methodology and analyze the data.

The August report shows consumer expectations for CE spending continue to be bullish, up for the 4th month in a row, while expectations for the economy are up slightly from July.  You can read the report, the press release and the methodology white paper here:  http://www.ceacnetindexes.org.
