My sister-in-law has achieved heights that I will never reach. When she was young, she and a classmate not only appeared on Nickelodeon's Double Dare, but they also won the whole thing, finishing the obstacle course with less than a second remaining on the clock. I've seen the show on VHS tape; it was incredible. The studio audience went wild, host Marc Summers was beaming, and my sister-in-law went home with a collection of fabulous prizes.
My brother and I watched Double Dare with great regularity growing up, so we may have unknowingly watched his future wife's day of great triumph. And I may tune into Nick Reboot until I see it again.
Nick Reboot streams classic Nickelodeon shows 24 hours a day. The live stream is free to watch. Shows are shown in random order; upcoming shows are listed along the bottom of the page. You can also see what's currently playing and the next two shows on tap at @nr_schedule. Click here for the full list of shows the site streams from the 1990s and early 2000s.
In addition to the free site, Nick Reboot has a paid site that offers on demand service for those suffering particularly sharp pangs for the TV shows of their youth.
Nick Reboot keeps Viacom's attorneys at bay by operating strictly under provisions in the doctrine of "fair use," as it states here.
