How to change your iOS device name in iTunes

Changing the name of your iOS device in iTunes is very easy, yet some people just aren't sure where to begin. In another CNET How To video, we show you has painless the process is.

If you are new to iOS and iTunes, you may be wondering how to go about renaming your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. The process is very easy and takes no time at all. Watch the video above to find out exactly how easy it is!

If you aren't the video-watching kind, here's what you need to do.

  1. Plug in your iOS device.
  2. Launch iTunes.
  3. Double-click the name of your device.
  4. Type the new name of your device.
  5. Press Enter/Return.

That's it! Pretty simple, just like we promised. With the impending release of iOS 5 being able to quickly identify which device is connected to iTunes through the new Wi-Fi sync feature.
