CES 2013
For the last 12 years, CNET's covered the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) like no other. Our videos, blogs, and podcasts produced live from the ground at CES are second to none, and our readers know it.
So does CEA--CNET is the Official Digital News and Video Partner of the 2013 International CES, and an elite group of CNET editors and writers are the ones who choose the official Best of CES Awards.
But to cover the hottest products of the show, we need your help. Make sure we know what you'll be debuting at the show by reaching out to our editors and pitching your products (see below).
BEST OF CES 2013
We will again host the official Best of CES Awards. To submit products for early consideration, contact the appropriate CNET Reviews editor based on the product category.
Please provide as much information on the product as possible, including:
- product name
- price
- availability
- basic specs
- photos (if available)
- specific NDA/embargo information
- manufacturer/PR contact info
IMPORTANT: To be considered for a Best of CES award, products need to be debuting at the show in Las Vegas from January 8-11, 2013.
How to submit products for review
The 51 weeks of the year after CES, of course, CNET runs the most comprehensive and thorough consumer electronics reviews site on the Web.
The best way to get your product reviewed is to pitch it, via e-mail, to the right editor. To determine which editor covers the category your product occupies, see our CNET Reviews editors page. When pitching your product, be sure to include the following:
- Availability status (it can be in development but needs to be a product that will reach consumers soon)
- Price
- Carrier (if applicable)
- Status of review models
- Product photos
- Basic specs
If we determine that your product fits our coverage plan, we'll ask you to send it to us. We have editors in San Francisco and New York, so we've included a list of products that are tested in each location, so you can be sure to send your product to the correct place. All products should be sent to the attention of the appropriate beat editor:

What to send
For CNET Reviews to deliver the most relevant information to its users, the products we review should be the exact same products our audience can purchase, including product specifications, manuals, documentation, drivers, software, and accessories. This also applies to prerelease products and/or products under NDA (nondisclosure agreement). It is imperative to notify us if any aspect of your product is prerelease or beta.
You also should include:
- A press kit
- PR contact information
- Technical specifications, if relevant
- Technical contacts, if relevant
- Return shipping information, including shipping labels and RMA information
- All laptops and desktops must include either a full-system-restore partition or restore disc(s)
What we do with your products
Whether we request your product or you send it to us unsolicited, we cannot guarantee it will be reviewed, as not every product fits into our planning and editorial mission. In most cases, we will keep your product for approximately 60 days, though exceptions may be made, if necessary. You can expect your product to go through a rigorous, impartial, review process, overseen by our expert Reviews staff. Many product categories are tested by CNET Labs, using in-depth and objective testing methods. A product review can range from a mention in our gadget blog, Crave, a First Look video, or a full review. Most product reviews include photographs of the product; many reviews also include a product video featuring an overview of the product as presented by a CNET editor.
When we are finished reviewing your product, we will return it to you.
