Pros Performance, HD Audio, BluRay Playback, less power consumption vs. GTX 470.
Cons Video Setup
Summary I am an admitted early adopter. For some reason, I must have all the latest features and performance. Luckily, my illness allows me to go for the midrange video cards vs. the top of the line. I'm also a huge fan of Nvidia graphic cards minus their HD audio limitations. Although, Nvidia seems to becoming around on the audio side. Since my main HTPC had a GTX 470, which performed flawlessly, I was disappointed after upgrading my 8 year old Denon 3802 with a Denon 4310CI to learn that the GTX 470 did not support HD audio. So, I moved my GTX 470 to another PC and purchased the ATI 6870. HD audio was up and running out of the box, but BluRay playback was less than stellar. After countless hours upgrading drivers, reading through the manual, and reading countless blogs, I contemplated reverting back to my Nvidia card. However, after stumbling across a video setting, Dynamic something a ma jig, which I disabled, BluRay playback was on par or better than my GTX 470. In addition, the few video games I played demonstrated the ATI could hold it's own with the GTX as well. Overall, great card minus the difficult setting up the video playback.
