Giving I have a mATX board on a small case, I couldn't fit the 11 inches of the GTX in the case (my wallet also thanked me). Also, if you are not running the Extreme Edition of the Core Duo (or even some version of a Quad Core, for those with deep pockets), I am not sure what's the point of going the extra mile on the video right now. I am using the $150 savings to increase my RAM by another 2 Gig where I think it's better spent. Product was easy to install, and images look really good on Flight Simulator X although still running on XP, hence Direct X 9). This month end, the truth shall be revealed with Vista around, I will update this review.
My perception on building the perfect PC is not about getting crazy on a 5K+ machine, but about defining the total budget you have available and then putting up a balanced system, with components in harmony and not being happy about bragging on having this or the other outrageosuly expensive component, if you have other no-so-high-end ones being a bottle neck!
