"This card requires good hardware and overclocking."

1.5 stars  | on by bisurge

Pros

It has a nice overclock capability, and a lot can be achieved from that. It can also play old games like Halo and Starcraft decently, though FPS won't be high.

Cons

Without good hardware to match it, it is horrible. It isn't even worth $200 anymore; I got mine for less than $80. Overclocking is risky on old computers, and no new computers use this anymore.

Summary

Overclocking this, the only way to make it effective, will KILL your computer if it is old. You need VERY good hardware for this to reach even half its full potential, which most old computers don't have. Basically, it's a new graphics card for old computers, which makes ... Read full review

Overclocking this, the only way to make it effective, will KILL your computer if it is old. You need VERY good hardware for this to reach even half its full potential, which most old computers don't have. Basically, it's a new graphics card for old computers, which makes no sense whatsoever. It is also high to achieve high FPS in games. I have 607 MB of RAM and an AMD Athlon 1500+, 1.34 GHz. I can get 30 FPS on Halo. If I overclock all three, I can get up to 80 on max quality (the 30 was on lowest quality), but the hardware, being old types, are easily degradable.

"This GFX Card works Perfectly!!"

5 stars  | on by Hragoroth

Pros

I played WoW back in the day with this GFX card since i did not have an agp or pci-e slot motherboard and it worked like a champ. It looks more smoothe than my bro's 9500GT 1gb lol, even thou it was running on a P4 1.8ghz which is y it lagged at all.

Cons

I admit it was not the fastest gfx card out there, but i bought it right when it hit store shelves back in like 2005 or 2004 or w/e it came out (been so long ago lol). Its only downfall for me was that it was running on my noob hp P4 1.8ghz pc.

Summary

It was well worth the $200 i spent way back then, when i had my P4 1.8ghz pc with 512mb DDR and 60gb hd, XP Pro as my main pc. Now i am running a I-7 920 2.67ghz PC with 6gb ddr3 and an ATI 4850 with a ... Read full review

It was well worth the $200 i spent way back then, when i had my P4 1.8ghz pc with 512mb DDR and 60gb hd, XP Pro as my main pc. Now i am running a I-7 920 2.67ghz PC with 6gb ddr3 and an ATI 4850 with a 475 watt power supply Dell XPS 435T, which is a beast imo. Going to be tossing a 4870 x2 or a 295gtx in it soon with a 850watt corsair power supply, so i cant wait. But ya back to this gfx card, the people that rating this GFX Card low are noobs that need to know that if you buy a $100-200 GFX card, do not expect it to run as quick or even near as quick as 1 that costs $500+. Anyways for this GFX card running with a PCI slot, it was a hell of a champ and if you bought this GFX card like 2 years after it came out, of course its not going to be as good as 1 that just came out lol. GG thanks.
