Since you must sign up with someone, it seems odd to demand unlocked at this point. I can't guess why that's a criteria but all GSM cards I've used let me slip in the carrier's card and I'm done.
But the new big deal is the 4G wifi hot spots. Many are pay as you go and when you don't need it, stop paying.
Greetings all, and apologies in advance from a forum noob...
I took this snappy little netbook bricked in a trade and now have it running up to spec. I'd like to make it into my dedicated road PC... it does what I need & I'm too cheap to by a tablet...
My question is this: my knowledge of data as relates to cellular WWAN is sketchy at best, but I'd like to
a) find an unlocked EVDO WWAN card for the mini PCI-e slot that will work with Toshiba, and
b) get advice on how to deploy the solution with the cellular carrier.
As I said- beyond activating my phone I have no experience with mobile data, but it would be a great solution for me rather than the thing that plugs into the USB port.
Thanks in advance for any help out there.
