So you are comparing wired to wifi performances?
Given that this router is likely set to support 802.11b your speeds are consistent with what I found as well. Setting my wnr2000 to 802.11g fixed that but wifi can not be be as good as wired. A book is needed to explain why. Sorry, but I can't type that here.
Just spent six hours over last two days on phone with Netgear tech support. Last week upgraded to Comcast's Ultra highspeed internet connection. Had to purchase DOCSIS 3.0 Motorola SB6120 modem. Download speed wired to modem is 35Mbps+. Connected modem to Netgear WNDR3700 Dual Band Wireless N router. Download speed dropped: between 150Kbps and 2Mbps. Ouch! Netgear upgraded then downgraded firmware. Changed channels. Changed RTS/CTS threshold, fragmentation length. No improvement. Tech finally capitulated recommending change to D-Link or Linksys/Cisco. I expected some decrease in speed running modem through router. Should I expect radical decreases using wireless routers at all? just the N routers? just dual band? just Netgear? Thanks!
