Windows Movie Maker to AVI

by Marktr6 / August 23, 2007 2:09 AM PDT

I have made a Movie Maker slide show for showing at a rehearsal dinner, but can't get it to burn on a DVD. Does anybody know how to convert these MSWMM files to AVI so I can burn a DVD plus I know people will also want a copy after they see the slide show. I can show the slide show as it is now by using a laptop connected to a projector, but this doesn't solve my problem of providing DVDs to the bride and groom's family.

Thanks,
Mark

A *.MSWMM file is not video file

A *.MSWMM file is not video file actually. It is a project file of Movie Maker. You have to open this file in WMM and save the movie to your computer: Go Finish Movie > Save to my computer. After that you will have a WMV file which can be converted to avi format to burn to DVD.
You can try this video converter for this task, that is what I'm using.
