Email Forward from, Windows Live Mail on Windows 7/
by tboos / February 21, 2012 10:02 AM PST

Thanks, I think I need a little more guidance. I am on Windows 7 and am using Windows Live Mail. Not Windows Live Hotmail.

In windows Live Mail I do see Options, I do not see a "forward" option. I don't even see a "manage my account" option.
It is a busy screen, could you point me to where I click on the Windows Live Mail screen?

Thanks

Then you don't do this in Live.

Use the other method noted about having gmail access your email. Remember that MSFT has no reason to help us jump ship.

I have same request as tboos - windows live mail, not wl hotmail. Your reply to him was not helpful at all. I need a step by step answer!

What to do next?

It's Microsoft's closed system with issues and limitations. If folk want to limit themselves even further then no one, even Microsoft appears to be helpful.

Give me an idea how to help folk that restrict themselves like this?

Also, since it's been nearly 2 years, I didn't re-re-research this area. If you need me to look again, make a new post with all your requirements.

Well I would appreciate some practical help rather than an anti-MS rant. Happy
I use Windows 7 on a desktop with my main email through Windows Live Mail (I prefer it to Outlook). I have just acquired an ipad for away from desktop use. I've opened a gmail account. I'm going away for 3 weeks and I want to have all my emails from the desktop WLM iinet address forwarded to my gmail address on the ipad.

In gmail I've linked the iinet address to my gmail account, but there doesn't appear to be a way to do it the other way round. Other advice on the internet only refers to WL hotmail, not WL mail, and the screens are different.

Once I've organised the forwarding from the desktop (hopefully with your help), I then need to set up the ipad, and as a new user I have no idea how.

I don't mind looking at this again but if you have restrictions on how to solve it, then well, MAKE A NEW POST.

As to anti-Microsoft, I'm unsure where I ranted. I did state it's a closed system so is that a rant?
