Nevermind, I got it: http://mintywhite.com/xp/persistent-acquiring-network-address-notification-xp/
Hi, so I just built a computer using the GA-A55M-DS2 Motherboard. I installed Windows XP. All the hardware works fine, and the network connects immediately. However, Windows keeps attempting to "Acquire network Address" on every bootup even after the computer is connected to the internet, and has an IP address. I CAN even browse the web while Windows is "Acquire network Address"! The computer is clearly connected to the internet and has a network address, although windows does not seem to be aware of that. "Repairing" the connection fixes this problem, however repairing on each startup is annoying and unnecessary.
My integrated Ethernet controller is the "PCIe GBE Family Controller".
How can I fix this problem and make Windows aware that it is connected and has an IP address???
PS: I re-installed the Ethernet drivers multiple times and have the latest driver version from the Realtech Semiconductor Corp. website.
