1. load any Desktop application automatically at start up like StickyNotes and you will boot directly to Desktop.
2. Mouse to the left corner and right click on the Start Icon that appears (Program and Features, Power Options, Device Manager, Task Manager, etc).
3. Click or right click on the file folder on the bottom strip and you will have file explorer (Downloads, Pictures, Documents Music, Disk Drives, Computer, etc)
4. and to turn off, you have three choices - Press the Off Switch (yes, it is ok), or Ctl, Alt, Del or mouse to the right corner and click on setting and Power and shut down or click on Search or whatever you want to do.
Yes, it is a little different, but not much. Just three things to remember and they all give you a few more options than the old start icon did. Did it ever make sense to click on Start to Shut Down.
