Sorry but this is one you toss back at your IT staffer to dig in and make the call if need be. That's too slim to even guess what it is. For now, just save it locally until you can reboot.
I have 2 work computers running Win2k, my computer and the server. The vast majority of the time everything is hunky dory. Suddenly, I try to save a file from the internet to the networked computer (the server). It saves, BUT it gives me an error saying that the connection can no be reset. Also, in "My Computer" the server is connected, i can click on it i can do whatever... YET there is a red x on the icon as if it is disconnected.
The red x does not go away when I explore the server.
The only inconvenience is the extra click to ignore the error when saving images off the internet. No error when transferring a file between my computer and the server.
Thanks for clearing up this seemingly bizarre behavior.
