Why does my web browsers get a white screen?

by dave7255 / June 21, 2011 7:37 AM PDT

After streaming a few videos all my web browsers turn up a plain white screen. Sometimes its after 30 minutes sometimes after an hour. My IM programs still work fine.
I'm running Windows 7 and have Bit Defender as my anti-virus. I have Time Warner Cable and it never did this when I had DSL. Any.suggestions will be much appreciated.

What are the details of this system? How much RAM, for example.

How many videos are you running at once? Which web browsers?

Have you tried cleaning out the temporary internet file caches?

In reply to: Memory?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4800 2.5 ghz
Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT
8gb RAM DDR 2
64 Bit Windows 7 Home Premium

I only stream one video at a time and I can download all i want just fine. I have tried clearing out my cache files, usually once a week. I mainly use Chrome and Firefox but Internet Explorer doesn't work either.

"After streaming a few video's".

That means that it's OK if you exit the browser and open it again after each video? That seems a useful workaround until you solved this strange problem.
