A Dangerous Method captured my attention. Julianne Moore in almost anything. Helena Bonham Carter, playing a New York psychiatrist in Dark Shadows, and before that, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon the Queen Mother, in The Kings Speech (or the Kings Peach as my friends and I call it).

I do think we're living in a golden age of Acting at the moment. Seeing Leonardo di Caprio handle J Edgar as well as he did was an eye opener, and Johnny Depp goes from strength to strength to strength. His use of voices, of intonation and accents seems to make the characters that much deeper.

I'll stop now, or I'll end up filling a page. The girl in Beasts of the Southern Wild, was simply transfixing in her performance. I hope it will lead her to many more.
