Question

Where are 46" Plasma HDTVs?

by DroidX_owner / March 11, 2013 12:50 AM PDT

Where can I purchase a 46" Plasma HDTV? I think the last year they made these was 2011. I'd be happy to Purchase a Panasonic 46" Plasma from 2011. Does anyone manufacture this size Plasma anymore? I guess my biggest beef with 46"/47" LED/LCD TVs is the way movies look like home videos ("soap opera effect"?)...It completely ruins a movie in my opinion. Also don't like poor quality when watching from an angle. ....and I suppose these issues are no trouble for a $2,000+ LCD/LED, but they're also not an issue for $500 plasma TVs...but I just can't put a 50 inch or larger in my living room and I don't want a 42 inch plasma either (too small).

Most common are 50" now

They have more demand for the 50"+ sizes, hence there not being as available as they used to be.

IMO the $500 plasmas still have some issues. You should be spending around $1000-1200K to get the real deal with the least amount of overall issues. Look at the Panasonic ST50 for example.

It's remarkably different from their other offerings.
