What is wrong with my hearing?? (Sound Bars)

by texan1962 / January 26, 2013 7:19 PM PST

Everywhere I go everyone bashes Bose, but everytime I hear them nothing really come close. To me the Bose surround 1 SR sounded great!
I have not hear a lot of different one so which others would compare to them? I have the Sony 550 and yea I have read the instructions and I have it tweaked out, but to me there is no mid level sound and it's muddy.

Thanks in advance!

Sony speakers are junk too

In general sound bars are just a small upgrade from TV speakers.

You have to look at companies that specialize in good speakers that also make sound bars for your case:

There are many more speakers companies but those I know off the top of my head that make sound bars as part of there line up.

Why bother at all with sound bars??
by Pepe7 / January 27, 2013 10:21 AM PST

Just get an entry level set of surround speakers/sub, such as the Energy Take Classic 5.1, and start to really enjoy your system. Not having decent surround sound while you watch movies means you miss out on half the action sometimes.
