Hello sniffer64,

Please be informed that all home AVG products (free/paid) contains during installation options to install or not install (through checkboxes) AVG Security Toolbar and set up AVG Secure Search as default search provider.

In case you want to remove AVG Secure Search from used browser(s), please follow these instructions.

Thank you

It's avgmfapx.exe
by chafer444 / June 14, 2011 8:01 PM PDT

After looking at the FAQ it appears to be related to the Update process, but I wasn't sure because the program has appeared to update successfully without me getting a message from my firewall that avgmfapx.exe was needing to access the Internet. Also I don't recall seeing this in earlier versions of AVG and I just wondered why it was happening now. Thanks

Hello kbchicago,

please be informed that process "avgmfapx.exe" is crucial for AVG updates (since AVG versions 2011 and 2012) and its communication cannot be blocked on firewall to be able to update AVG (virus database, program, etc.) successfully - FAQ.

In case of another questions, please let us know.

Thank you
