What is a netsh.exe virus and what do I do to get rid of it.

by ezymel / January 24, 2007 5:59 AM PST

Hi:

Previously, booting up my computer went fine like it usually did. About a week or so ago, after booting up, a window popped up stating the "Application failed to start because framedyn.dll was not found". Reinstalling application may fix the problem. I looked up the virus and found it listed in PC-Cillin dictionary and classified as a worm. What I don't understand is that .dll file has to be part of the netsh.exe. Of course I do not want to complete the process of the dll file as why would I want to launch that program? I looked up netsh.exe in search and the only thing that was found was a folder and two files which I was unable to look in to. I was able to delete all these files and folder but still I get the same message over and over after booting up. How do I get rid of this? It is perplexing to me. Has anyone experienced the same problem? If so, did you find a tool to remove it. I have two registry checkers and that did not seem to help in removing it plus the fact it was not listed in the results. If someone can help me with this, I certainly will appreciate it. I really do not want to reinstall my win xp if I can help it. Thanks very much for your response.

Regards,

Mel or zzmel

What,if any anti viruses and/or anti spyware programs have you run?

Try TREND MICRO and AVG ANTI SPYWARE

Does this show up in task manager?
