What is a good video editing/cutting/splitting software?

by taggerung / July 25, 2010 12:44 PM PDT

I need to cut or split small parts of a long video. Does anyone know any good software for that?

Personally I have Nero and dvdshrink. I use dvdshrink a lot because it?s very quick when no compression or very little is needed. You caould take a look at the Cnet download to see what you can find.

Preferably, I'd like them to be free too.
Is Nero free?

The only thing I have is Windows Live Movie Maker, and you can't cut scenes from it. I tried.

Check it out. I have been using it to cut and trim all my VCD files. The beauty is you can see and hear the video and can cut it at the exact place you want to. The Lite version is free.
