For gamers it's not the CPU that matters so far. For example you've read the following.
"Our tests demonstrate fairly little difference between a $225 LGA 1155 Core i5-2500K and a $1000 LGA 2011 Core i7-3960X, even when three-way graphics card configurations are involved. It turns out that memory bandwidth and PCIe throughput don't hold back the performance of existing Sandy Bridge-based machines. "
So without knowing why this is attractive, if this is for a gamer, look around for a higher GPU and maybe the i5.
Been havin a vague browse for a new laptop, stumbled accross this Lenovo z570
Specs are as follows:
Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM Quad Core Processor
15.6" HD Screen
Windows 7 Home Premium
8GB DDR3 RAM
Dedicated GT540M Graphics
Found it for £530 with i7
From my noobish perspective it seems like quiet a good buy but would appreciate some feedback from those of you who can speak with some authority on laptops. Thanks Guys
