Westboro Baptist Church threatening to picket in Conn.

by Josh K / December 17, 2012 10:11 PM PST

Credible info that they are planning to picket the funeral of the principal of Sandy Hook Elementary on Wednesday.

There is a Facebook group run by an organization that is experienced in setting up human blockades to keep that vile inbred filth away without breaking any laws. If you are interested in expressing support for their efforts to allow the people of Newtown to bury their children in peace, you can join:

There are also several petitions at www.whitehouse.gov asking to have the WBC's tax-exempt status revoked (they aren't really a church) and to have them designated as a hate group.

Didn't Anonymous attack their site?
by James Denison / December 18, 2012 3:02 AM PST

Released private information on some of them and promised to do more.

He released names, addresses, phone numbers and social security numbers of church members. I don't know whether he's manipulated the site itself, but I heard he got into their Twitter account.

I hope people are very careful about using any of that information. If you contact them, they know who you are and can find out more about you. That's information I would prefer they not have.

Info released by Anonymous has resulted in people getting WBC members' cell phone and internet accounts turned off, and someone got Shirley Phelps declared legally dead. ROFLMAO

they aren't picketing gay bars and bath houses and other places they are instead of doing all this misdirected stuff? I mean those who are objecting to Abortions who also picket, do it as close to Abortion Clinics as they can.

Word is that they came, were blockaded and have retreated
by Josh K / December 19, 2012 4:39 AM PST

I had a live stream going which confirmed two vans being escorted out of town by the police, after a human wall prevented them from getting anywhere near the principal's funeral.

Hopefully they will keep on driving, but with so many more funerals coming over the next few days, people will have to remain alert and ready to stop them again.

Another level of surrealism, seeing that even the KKK has limits.

The info I've gotten is that their presence in town was confirmed, including the hotel they were staying at, but they were unsuccessful in getting anywhere near any funerals today.

Any unnatural death is "God's wrath" according to them. Watch how quickly they'd backpedal if one of their own got hit by a car or something.

They support themselves largely by provoking confrontations and then suing people. That's why anyone looking to counter-protest has to be very careful not to say anything to them or make any physical contact.

Their extremism wouldn't matter so much to me if they weren't so intent on expressing it in the most sadistic ways they can come up with.

Reminds me somewhat the children of Sceva

The fakers can create problems, sometimes it comes back on them. Also below that is a more apt example perhaps, from Philipians chapter one.

Acts chapter 19
13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.

19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

Philipians chapter 1

12 But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;

13 So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;

14 And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:

16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:

17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.

was killed by some freak event, since they blame soldier deaths on homosexual activity in the US, not particularly the soldier.

Their view seems to be that every bad thing in the US is divine punishment, don't recall of any rewards they see.

I "met" some of their neighbors via Facebook
by Josh K / December 23, 2012 11:45 PM PST

I got into a discussion with someone who lives on their street. I asked him what it's like having them for neighbors. He said that having grown up in Topeka they're just one of the things that people get used to seeing around, and that he tries to avoid driving past the "church" when possible. One thing that annoys him is when they picket outside other people's churches, not even letting them worship in peace.

He also said that one of the Phelps children, who left the church a long time ago, was a friend of his and a good guy.

I also wondered what the presence of that "church" has done to nearby property values but he didn't answer that question. If you go there on Google Earth or Google Maps you can see a lot of "For Sale" signs on those houses, but one has to wonder what kinds of offers they're getting, if any.
