Video Card & Motherboard Compatibility

by jskim22 / January 24, 2009 9:47 AM PST

I am planning to upgrade my PC that I got a couple months ago. I want to install a better motherboard and video cards. I am wondering if my HP Pavilion Elite m9340f is compatible with:

-1x (XFX nForce 780i Motherboard)

- 3x (XFX GeForce 9800 GTX- 512 MB each

-3x (EVGA GeForce 9800 GXT+ 1024 MB each)

I found these components for all together just under $750. If anyone finds better products, or a cheaper price please tell me.

-XFX nForce 780i Motherboard- $190, New
-XFX GeForce 9800 GTX+ - $160 each, New
-EVGA GeForce 9800 FTX+- $210 each, New

Here are my PC specs:

Windows Vista( Home Premium
Intel Q6700 2.66 GHz Processor
6 GB PC2-6400 DDR2 SDRAM (2x2048) + (2x1024)
NVIDIA GeForce 9500GS Graphics Card (reason why I want to change it)
7500GB 7200 RPM Hitachi Hardrive
Intel G33 Express Chipset
Motherboard- Asus IPIBL-LB; Benicia-GL8E
16X DVD(+/-) 12X RAM (+/-)R DR LightScribe SATA drive

make and model.

Also plan on another Power Supply...and probably another OS...the HP Pavilion license won't be valid for the other MB and components.
