Question

User Guide

by Manannan / June 14, 2013 3:27 AM PDT

Hello,

I'm running a Samsung Series 3 Notebook on Windows 8 and every time I click onto the User Guide, see Pic 1, which then makes the small window appear, asking me to select my preferred language.

I select English, and click OK. Then when Adobe Reader opens up, it tells me the file cannot be found, Pic 2.

Does anyone know how to fix this so I can simply click onto the icon, select language and get the user guide. The file itself isn't corrupted or anything as I can find and open User Guide English.

Thanks for any help given,

Ryan.

Well, I hope so. The CNET Samsung forum has an Ambassador that for US products can answer a lot of questions and issues. So I've asked this be moved to that forum as it's a product issue.

Hi Ryan,

I was trying to look up the attachment you offered. The forum requires I make an account to view it. Any chance you could post the image to picture storage website and then provide that link here?

Hi Manannan,

I think this may be some kind of error with Acrobat reader, but let's check that. If you could give me your model code for your laptop, I'll try to provide a link to the manual here for you to try.

Hello,

Thank you.

The model code is CPA09-004A.

Hi Manannan,

I believe this is the part code from the charger itself. The model code would read something like NP540U3C-A10US. The NP is the Samsung prefix for a laptop model.

Apologies.

The only other thing I can find, which is under the laptop itself, is NP355V5C-A07UK.

Thanks for the help,

Ryan.

Thanks HD Tech. However, this doesn't solve my problems.

I already have the User Guide on my PC. The problem is the link in the task bar simply doesn't work.

See the original links to see what I mean.

Thanks.

What if you create a new link to the user manual and forget or delete the dead link?

I like the icon

I know it sound weird, but I did try that and it only had the standard PDF Icon.

I like the little question mark, because I know that is, or should be, the user manual.

I was just hoping Samsung could fix it.

What if you used your own icon?

In reply to: Download

For years we would put our own icon on such a thing.

As to samsung fixing it, my bet is they would have to restore the PC to a factory condition and if it failed there, well, I'd be guessing.

Is it not a program?
by Manannan / July 4, 2013 2:50 AM PDT

Yes, I'm aware of the ability to change icons, however, as the icon is for a program named User Guide, which I downloaded from SW Update, couldn't Samsung post a link, or even better just put it on their site, to download the User Guide program in its entirety with a working English Version?

Thanks,

Ryan.

I can't answer that.

As you see the forum bottomed out. As to getting the icon out of the app, I would be duplicating the web of how to use or extract the icon from the program.

Anyhow, I know some may think this trivial but it is solvable. Let's hope you extract the icon or Samsung supplies another idea.
