USB Modem with Samsung LED UE40B7000WW

by hondaddicted / June 23, 2010 8:40 PM PDT

Hi there,

three days ago I bought a brand new Samsung LED TV (UE40B7000WW). Unfortunately, I cannot use my router to connect my TV to the Internet. That`s why I`m thinking about buying an USB Internet Modem so connect it to the TV via the USB. Now I wonder if that`s possible. Could you give me some suggestions or informations?

Thanks in advance,
Alex.

Sounds expensive.

Since no standards exist in USB internet broadband sticks you need some 3G ROUTER (like you see at 3grouter.com) to handle the USB stick and get a more common wifi or ethernet connection.

hondaddicted,

If you have a wireless router, you'll need the Samsung LinkStick (Model WIS09ABGN or WIS10ABGN) to connect wirelessly to the Internet.

When you say that you couldn't connect with a wired connection, is that because of location of the router, or configuration issues?

It is because of the location of the router. It it is quite nasty to get all the cables from my router to the TV and the LinkStick it`s quite expensive too. Anyhow, I think I`ll choose using the LinkStick in the end.
