Question

update to Avast7 error

when i clicked on the notice from Cnet to update to Avast 7 free I keep getting error (0000) and advised that the insallation con't complete. anyone else with this problem ???. I love Avast

If you tried to update through Avast Control Panel and it say that it is up-to-date, then it is and there is nothing more to do.

then why is the update warning explanation mark telling me that I have version 6 and that version 7 is avaialble ??

I would suggest you do a clean install using their Uninstall Utility. Follow all the directions on the page.

Better yet, see THIS post. It includes the set up for the free version.

Do you happen to have another A/V installed? Or If you did, but no longer do, how did you go about removing it?

I took it that you were already using Avast 7 and not still using the outdated version 6.

Please follow Carol's advice as it appears you need to do a clean install of Avast 7.
